After having owned 2 Z's, I'm now without one again since selling my TT last night. I'll miss it, but living in inner melbourne it didn't get a lot of use anyway . I made the mistake of buying a car requiring some work when i got it and managed to sink over $10K that i didn't recover on selling over about 10 months. The new owner should have a very solid car however! Now its back to walking for a few months while i look for a suitable cheap runabout. I think i might buy a Z again in the future, but it'll be a few years away, and it might be a 350, or else a '98 TT when i've got the money to really get it perfect. I'm sure i'll still be around however
You could always move? lol Melbourne is absolute hell for driving anywhere in anything! Get a scooter! haha
Glad to hear you finally sold ya zed, but sad to hear you are zedless. Anyway, make sure you stick around mate.
Sorry to hear that, Well if i ever see ya walking down the side of the road, I'll be happy to give you a lift to work haha!
cheap runabout ..?? something appears to have changed since posting the initial and somewhat urgent "for sale" thread ..?? ...
AND, as the NEW OWNER of the said car..... I am now temporarily Zedless. Reason??? ...... On the way to get the RWC this afternoon, the engine blew an oil seal which needs the front of the engine pulled apart. So, why not do the cam seals, timing belt and one or two other things while the damn thing is stripped down...... But, this is what happens with cars! So it will be cruisin' by Tuesday. I must say that the car goes quite strong except for the $5 part that blew. Oh well. And, for the record, I was not thrashing it.... it was just that particular seal's time to go
no good to hear,i think this car has been smashed with the bad luck stick for the past year wasnt the motor totally rebuilt by nissport 4000km's ago,
yeah i decided i couldn't justify an Xr8 or similar for the same reason i sold the Z.. i only drive about once a week.. if that. thats why i decided to sell her at 'leisure', now i've just got to decide on something cheap that won't break that will carry 4 people if needed in reasonable comfort and a decent load in the boot.
heres chads old car, very economical Damian, perfect for around town lol  comes in a t/t model (larger chain)
Yep.. all rebuilt late last year So i'm not impressed to see this happen!, I spent over $10K on that car since i brought it, over $2 a KM not counting petrol! But having said that, it's gotta be in pretty good condition now!! Engine Rebuild, Stereo Replacement, Aircon compressor, Clutch + flywheel, Hids, Misc Bits like bonnet stops, new fuel hoses etc and it seems it goes on! Definately going to miss driving the Z! But i won't miss the cost of owning one.
I thought I would close off on my previous post.... The Zed lives once more! I ended up having the front of the engine stripped down, replaced the belt while it was apart, new seals/gaskets from front of block forward, replaced some hoses for good measure and new rubber all round. So, now the Zed is back on the road and hopefully won't need too much attention in the near future other than routine maintenance. I hope.... The car seems to be in pretty good order now, so now I will start enjoying the pleasure that is the Zed!
