    Legal Aid

Man thats a tough week

I wont go into it cause im not gonna hijack your thread but i'm having a few legal issues myself with someone, lets just say this person is the sort you wouldnt believe actually exists until you have experienced it.

Yes you can get legal aid. Contact with Centrelink is a very good way to get in contact with the nearest office to you. If you are on the bread line you just need to meet some criteria regarding income and assets. Talk down the value of your car obviously cause they can assess your wealth on many criteria. A community laywer can definiately help you here. They can prepare all of the documentation and applications you need. In NSW small claims can be for alot more than $2k (i think its >20k even) depending on situation. In small claims a solicitor cannot represent you but can 'assist' you. this will go to small claims. a chamber magistrate may order some mediation first, but that doesnt really apply here cause its pretty black and white. some advise - document every thing including all conversations with times and alike. magistrate may even make the order based on that alone.

If you are a student talk to your SRC for free legal representation -this is what your union fees go on!!!

Probably the fact you are taking it seriously with a solicitor means the two other parties (read cheap bastards) will cooperate quickly .

anyway this is all for nsw, not sure where u are (too lazy to check).

and if this is all getting you down, which it would, remember that its only hurting so much cause you have an iconic car that turns heads when its parked!!! :zlove: :zlove: :zlove: z love can hurt

good luck, pm if you want more help with legal aid

    Gareth

    racist?

each 'race' as a whole has a trait that they're known for .... just because i generalise about asians being bad drivers (which i'm sure at least 80% of ppl agree) does not make me racist.

if it wasn't for asians we wouldn't have our pride and joy.

don't be so quick to interpret what ppl type without knowing them first.

maybe some things in there said aren't politically correct but her whole argument wasn't based on that race. she is speaking as a generalization. im sure if i hit her she would be equally pissed off  and would still bring out the mag. don't make this something its not.... a racial attack. this site doesn't condone any abuse of any sort and im sure she didn't mean for it to come across as it did. probably just caught in the moment... due to whatever reason

Actually that is the definition of racism! Well i am sure most people say the same

thing about women drivers! Wouldnt u consider this sexist if i said this
"don't let them get away with it .... they're prolly laughing with girlfriends while they check to see if their purse and shoes matches the color of their cars":p

LoL...mate are u her spokesman or her lawyer!

I call a spade a spade .. if u want to make negative generalisations about different races of Australians - feel free to do so but have the guts to wear the "racist" label!

i never made any negative generalizations about anyone nor have i ever. reread what i posted. no im not her spokesman but for you to go and carry on about this in someone else thread is wrong. i started replying first of all to your remarks before she had but it just took me longer to type it all out. i would have done the same for anyone else. mate im not even going to bother replying to anymore of your comments, just not worth it any more. long over it. have fun carrying on

I wasn't going to bother getting into a 'racism' debate with you but i there's no way anyone is going to call me gutless.

If thinking a very high percentage of asians lack driving skills makes me a racist than so be it i am and i'm entitled to my oppinion.

Like you I call a spade a spade and until i see different (on perth streets) i will not change my mind.

If you want to discuss this further i am more than happy to speak up either in PM or a new thread as i think we've already strayed from the topic enough.

Sorry Sav and my offer still stands.

Well, my girlfriend is chinese, and even she says that a large percentage of asian drivers (especially her mom) lack good driving skills. She belives that it is largely due to arrogance on their behalf, thinking that they know better, and when they do stuff up, they try to play it off to get away with it.

In fact, we even have a little game we play while driving, where when we spot a poor driver or someone doing something stupid we try to guess the identity of the driver. My girlfriend usually blurts out "female asian", if its not that, its an old man or a bogan :D

Identifying a general trait is not racisim. Discrimination due to that trait is. Some cultures do have certain ways of doing things/mindsets that affect they way other things are done. I dont get offended when people make jokes about wogs smelling like garlic, unless they are being spiteful or doing it to provoke. If they do that I will "call them out". I must re-iterate again, my girlfriend is asian, my mates are either asian or european, I drive a japanese car. I am not a racist, only pointing out the way things are.

Oh, and as for descrimination, I do that on a moron by moron basis, regardless of race or culture. ie I wont assume that the particular asian driver in front of me lacks skills unless I actually see them drive crap. Its usually airheads, ditzy people, or arrogant self-important pricks who suck at driving, but they come in all shapes, sizes, coulors and races. All that aside, all the bad drivers I see are either old, bogan or female asian. But I have also seen all of the above also drive with great skill. Lets be both fair & honest here.

Will try not to offend them, as long as they harden the f#*k up so they dont have to cry over insignficant things, eg the "PC police" type people.

ahhaha, dazmelb get a grip, it's like calling an asian driver bad the same way u shout out bloody volvo drivers.. they are no more racist than the other.. one is racisim towards a model of car the other is towards a nationality that cant drive to save a bag of rice.

if they werent so shit and incompitent drivers they wouldnt be labled in the first place, just because some of us give em shit for it doesnt mean we are racists.

anyway it's not all asians that are bad, namely its more the 2nd/3rd world type asians such at cambodia/vietnam/china, ever driven through springvale? or footscray? *shudders*

lol you can't be racist to a car brand.. hahahahhaa

racist is racism, racism is a generalisation based upon a race, what clara originally said was borderline racist but I don't care, I just thought the "thats like being racist to a volvo" comment was absoloute gold!!!
