Hyperdrive have stopped chipping Zs for the time being as there program has a virus and they have been trying to fix it for the last 6wks
Just after New Years, Hyperdrive open back up on the 8th. Not sure if I should now, might be a better idea to hold off and then get it all done after Motorvation.
Its worth noting that Speedworks is under new ownership and new mechanics. Tuning will still be done by Sean/Nick from All Star Garage. I've confirmed that AJ does NOT work/tune at Xspeed. AJ's been out of the state for quite sometime; returned recently during the handover of Speedworks to the new owners. Don't know where he exactly is now though. Because there are new owners/mechanics there you will have to take previous experience/history out of the mix when making a decision on taking your zed there or enquiring as its a completly different lot there now. Sean/Nick do some great work and some great tuning however.
Go to Precise and see Dave I got recommended to hyperdrive and it ended up costing alot more than planned after the dyno. Car stalled and died at servo and had to be towed back to hyperdirve again. They then charged me again for repairs and said it wasn't their fault. I heard lots of goog things about Precise Automotive in Wangara (see Dave). Not sure about Speedworks thou.. Just my 2 cents
Precise Automotive Dont actually do their own tuning its out sourced to some one else. mabye PSI ? thats also in wangara.. Not sure but I wouldnt take my ZED there for tuning big NO NO for work and other things I would take it there. but then I do it all my self the best way.
After hearing and seeing turbotac's zed on tonkin hwy on saturday morning I would have to say that there is nothing wrong with how that beast has been tuned. Absolutely hammered. Loved every minute of it!
How the car drives Isn?t really a sign of how good the tune is it could pull hard.. but be leaning out too much and time will = dead motor.
how long ago did speekworks change hands? i haven't been there for a month or so, wonder if its better....... or worse
End of Nov I believe. Sometime around there. Sean/Nick (mechanics and tuners) left Speedworks and started their own business called All Star Garage. I recommend checking them out, they're across the road from Hyperdrive in Malaga. Sean/Nick built the first 10 sec wrx in WA - its been going hard for over 4 months and 10000kms with no problems whatsoever - also worth noting it did the 10 sec pass with the engine around 10000kms old (been making over 500awhp for all that time too). I believe they can also do ROM's for the z32's.
Just for interests sake regarding Hyperdrive. Post on Skylines Australia by Ken Jaffey, Half owner: ------ Yes , the rumours are correct but not for the reasons people think. We have been hard at it for 3 years and it's time Glenn and myself took a break. Glenn will be seeking to change direction in regards to type of cars and what he actually is tuning and I will be staying here until it is sold or will stay on if the new owner wants a manager. He will be avaliable to tune if the need arises and we have access to a competent tuner for the times he isn't in the country. The business is going very well ( as is attested by the brokers figures on what it's worth ) , we certainly aren't going broke and we haven't had a fight, just things change in your life and you have to re assess your goals. We will be closed from December 22nd till January 8th and it will be business as usual. Thanks to all our past customers , welcome to our future ones and we wish you all a Merry Christmas. If anyone is seriously interested in purchasing a business that has excellent turnover, good profit figures , secure lease then call me direct. I can assure you for those who are into the investment scenario , this returns far better %'s than buying a rental property smile.gif smile.gif Cheers Ken ------
