    Hi there:D ,

Just a few questions. I have had my 92' NA zed for about 1 month now and am LOVING it:D :D :D . No problems so far!

The body/paint work is great except for a 5cm crack in the front bar, and I would like to fix it. It is the stock front bar of an NA, so I was just wondering firstly, what material are they made out of? fibreglass? Secondly has anyone tried to fix this before. If so would it be to hard for an amatuer, and should I just take it to a panel/body shop? I got quoted anout $300 or $400...seems a bit steep for such a small crack.:(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.:)

    yeah I know:D lol!

but I still wouldn't mind fixing it in the meantime. Besides, even if its $150 for the tt front bar, what about painting it/fitting it etc. I am a little poor at the moment, having just bought my zed and wouldn't be confident about spraying the tt myself, as I am still pretty new to this kind of stuff:) Would still like to fix it in the short term if possible, thanx:)

go to an auto shop, buy a fibreglass repair kit and some touch up paint.
its pretty easy to follow and won't look 100% original, but would have saved you the $300- $400.
have you got any pics of the damage?
the repair job i've mentioned above will look great if you do it properly, then further down the track you can consider replacing the front bar etc.
    cheers

    actually no...

if its a stock fb then its polyurethane...ie plastic.. fibre glass wont do anything but fall off..

and why would u wanna put a TT front bar on... not like ud get the REZPECTT of a tt... lol

if its just a crack in the paint sand it out and touch up the paint..

    post some pics for us

^^^why not put a tt bar? thats just like saying dont get an aftermarket front bar for the na coz it doesnt need the speed holes...:D

also you wouldnt need fibreglass to fix that, just bogg...

look out for a front bar that is the same colour as your zed...shouldnt be extremely hard to find one....unless offcoarse ur car has been respreyed a non stock colour...

Recently had mine done by a 'plastic surgeon' as they call themselves. They do a very good job-cost $89 for 3 cracks repaired + paint touch up-although I had the whole bar resprayed later to match new colour change. I think they use a heat welding technique which becomes as flexable as the original. If you use fibreglass it will crack off easily when you scrape something, but is a short-term solution. A good epoxy glue reinforced with fly screen on the inside also does a good job.
