Well this has got me stumped!! A little while ago i posted about a crank angle sensor code being thrown up and my car not starting. Well after testing and tweeking the cas conections, testing all wires and ecu, and replacing the CAS, my car is still not starting!!! Can anyone explain what may be the cause of this problem, as i want to get the car back on the road asap. Still getting the same cas code though through the diagnostics.... Cheers Jaysen
Dont talk about the CAS I just had 3 days of no car star. I fixed it now. Have a look through my old posting you find a answer there that mite help you. My propblem is on the last page. Clicky here http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=253606
CAS & PTU do not throw the same code. CAS code is 11 PTU code is 21 If you ever need a quick link to codes it is here http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&slide=51&cycle=off&scale=0&design=default&total=190
I'm getting a code 11- CAS followed by a code 34- Det sensor, which i have been told is due to the code 11 and cas problem.
How will a code 11 cause a code 34? It won't. Now back to your CAS...is it working yet? You said you tested the wires and the ecu, but have you had a good look at the plug? Could be suspect. CAS's don't generally fail on a whim...although it may seem to be a sudden spout lately.
Found the problem.... It was the timing belt. Even though it was intact, some of the teeth on the belt have been torn off it seems and as a result the belt had slipped or is slipping (timing belt was replaced at around 80 000km car has now travelled 108 000kms). Only problem is that now there is a good chance that the valves are bent due to the belt slipping and the VG bieng a non free running engine. Can anyone tell me if this is the case, how much would it cost to replace the valves.
TT's often escape valve damage if T/belt strips at idle. If your Zed is a recent import the odometer may have been wound back & many cars came in with 100k stickers but little or no 100k work done
I have had my zed for about nearly 5 years now. Clock was definetly not would back as i had dealings with the origional owner in japan. Timing belt must have been faulty. But some good news, mechanic called and said it looks like no valve damage, so i only need to replace the timing belt. Might have my zed back on the road sooner than i though.
