my mate had a 1970's white crappy mazda with like 350,000km on the clock.. that thing had the quickets 0-100 i have ever seen... about 15 seconds LOL but he used to go out and rev his car up next to good cars for a joke
mine to yeah bro i have had countless amount of people in shit boxes and what have you pulling up beside me and trying to go me. I had a ford capri, try to race me at a set of lights, (p plater). so i did what any good zed driver would do. I laughed and ended up sideways throught the intersection. he got the idea. so its not just you bro so don't worry. cheers
I am glad its not just me then and very very glad my car isnt a daily driver I feel for you that put up with it on a day to day basis thats for sure. I dont think people realise just how quick these cars are. Fair enough they weigh in heavy and the power to weight ratio is quite good and the zeds just keep pulling and pulling and pulling. I am very keen to see what sort of speed my car will reach going down the straight at Eastern Creek on Sunday Its long and slightly down hill too. My first car was a 1972 Corolla KE25 little 2 door 1.3 litre I think and man did that thing go it weighed next to nothing and with the 4speed would keep up with most larger hp cars. Ah that was a fun little car.
ye having a daily driver for a z you get many people do stupid things.. people drive up your ass then cut away into the next lane then cut infront of you... stupid stuff like that...i mean i jsut had some guy in a prelude try to drag me while lyndsay from teh zshop was takin my car for a drive to see what boost i was getting after boostin it for me.. the guy came right up our ass then pulled out last second down geared.. kept it at high revs and expected us to go him.. 1 it was a waste of time.. and 2 we were turning off anyway.. i love how underated the Z is though.. many people think they are slow boats.. but its actually the opposite.. i think they are all just jealous that we own a beautiful car like the z
rice boys. i get idiots tryin to race me quite regularly and they always have to do the big "looser fly by" after i've already reached the speed limit ten car lengths infront. its worse comin home from wsid with the drag numbers still on the windows cause the poor zeds copped a caining all night and i just wanna get home but they won't give up.
I think you are spot on there most are envious and probably my number plate gets em riled up a bit too ZX2NV. Its funny someone else mentioned the skyline boys checking out the rides. I seem to get lots of looks from other modded car owners in skylines, supras and especially other zeds which is understandable its almost like a non stated mutual respect among performance car enthusiasts which I think is tops and always give a little nod of acknowledgment.
Hey Grant I had that same thing after after WSID a few weeks ago. Every car who pulled up next to me thought it was on. I was pretty happy and relaxed and was just cruising though that night with the odd woossshhh drive by here and there.
I admit that I've thrashed my zed occasionally, but not as much as I used to with my previous cars. Nowadays I ignore the other hoons on the road. Besides, mine is an NA with no major mods. It's a 16+ year old car so I'm hoping it'll last a lot longer, as long as I treat her right. And I do.
Same. when my car was on the road and being driven daily i didn't get anyone trying to race me. well maybe twice in about a year but thats it

I never had anyone directly initiate anything in 2.5yrs BUT... I've had people wanting to benchmark their machine against my Z. I have an absolute passion for especially WRX owners who think they drive a McLarrens F1? (any WRX owners reading you know what I mean) and tailgate anyone and everyone @ 120km/h in a 110 zone. - Absolutely Hate that. Oh yea, and If you have a BLACK WRX you become the self proclaimed God of the Gods. Sometimes I loose my cool when I think what if everyone drove like that? what stops me at the end of the day, other than the law, from doing 290+km/h in a 110? Try doing that in a WCrapX. - Give me a break. The best way to deal with any inflamatory behaviour is to plain ignore it and just enjoy your Z for what it is. My advice is if you hear someone reving next to you to take you on, just turn up your stereo. - seriously, we don't have anything to prove to anyone. Peter
no one has tried with me either maybe cause my son is usually strapped in his toddler seat in the back, turns a light on in their heads. The only time I hit the right foot hard was when a ferrari was showing off so thought I give it a go, even so I really shouldnt have cause the roads are a death trap waiting to happen. It only takes one second for something to go wrong, trust me I see it all the time when working the roads...
