    Hey,
When I purchased my Z I noticed, instead of the twin pipes this one was running a single (looks about 3 inch to me) straight through with one of those big bloody milo tin looking tips.
Why would someone do this instead of twin pipes?
Wouldnt mind knowing is all because I'd like to change it maybe for twin pipes with the classy looking twin tips.Thanx again fellahs.

    Its a little cheeper

Plus some find the look off one over sized can appealing.
    It dosen't affect proformance.

I think the Z looks unballanced and kinda weird with only 1 pipe out the back love the duel look and the sound.

LOL wonder how a milo tin would look on the end that would be somthing different

I think the single exhaust look was big in japan as a kind of *drifter look* youll notice that a lot of jspec zeds are single exhaust .. imo they look better but im bias :D Ive got 3 inch with a single resinator...*milo tin*

Cheaper, less weight, people prefer to be "different", and it would be easier to tune because you've only got one reading to work off of. A performance shop owner in the US runs a single exhaust, and he gave a pretty good write-up of why he went the single. I'll try to find it for you.

The gap on the other side of the bumper is pretty unappealing!

slicktop tt - LOOKS LIKE A SUPER HKS DRAGGER TO ME!!!
if thats the case i demand you fly it to melbourne!!!

thewolfe check if your's is a hks super dragger also, :p

ive got the single hks cat back too, which ive seen on about 5 other zeds here in melb, think it was a package hks sold back in jap land, ive been looking for one forever, just dont tell the others ok :D

check on the muffler look for HKS stamped into the metal, should also have dragger scribbled into it, let me know if you wanna sell it and get a pair of new mufflers else where..

goef why dont you think it affects performance? the way i see it ive got 2 nice flowing 2.5" mandrel bent pipes flowing straight into a centre muffler, which then has a 3.5" pipe leading to the muffler,
so thats 5" of volume flowing into a centre muffler and being crammed out a 3.5" outlet, got turbulance?!

i've been wanting to get a twin 2.5" cat back for ages now i rekon i'll gain a few ponies, just worried about the drone..

i dont like the look of one zorst sticking out the back of the zed....looks odd to me...especialy when there is a space for it to sit and its empty.

    For my NA:
Custom 2.5" cats back mandrel-bend pipes, Magnaflow stainless mufflers and custom 2-in, 2-out center muffler (instead of resonators and X- or H-pipe) - $1100
add headers - $600 (not sure what the dumps would cost if you have a TT)
add twin chrome tips - $150.
    So, all up about $1700-$1800
Looks almost stock, but certainly doesn't sound like it!
