    Hello all

I'm a proud new owner of a 2seat TT. Im looking to insure my z and want to know what peoples experiences have been with the common insurance companies in AU(suncorp, AAMI, Just Car), All the companies are falling within the $1000-1300 mark. Has anyone made a claim through any of these. How did they go.

Just cars - Bro had made a claim, payed the excess (He didnt talk much about it, but thats what ive gathered) and then had an increase on his insurance cost (think thats pretty standard?) - This was on third party though - He's under 25.

    good experience with Just Car

I made a claim a couple of years ago with Just Car Insurance. All went smoothly with the claim, it just took a couple of weeks to get rolling because my car was defected at the time of the accident and they had to determine if the defect contributed to it. It didn't and it was all fixed. My premiuim even went down the next year and I didn't lose my rating 1 (had protection).

I've had insurance with Shannons before but never made a claim. I cut my premium in half by going to Just Car for full comp.

    STAY AWAY FROM RACV!!!!! <--

If we had old forums, you would see about 10 different posts on how many times they FU***ED me up and over.

But in the end, i owned those homos. Got 18700$ out of the cocks. So deserved it. Then i left them a month later and stuck it up them and went to just cars.

Go with just cars. All the way. I pay $1600 full comp + stereo+rims and im 23 with 1 claim and made me a rating 2 when i signed up last year. Car is insured for 12k only though. But that can be raised a little if i called em up and said HI I HAVE ******************** installed. :D

Just cars all the way babeh!

I went with NRMA, I'm 20 with no traffic infringments or accidents. Went full comp and its 1,500 a year. I think my excess would be about 800 total.

I tried Just Car 1st but they wouldn't insure me because my car had scratches on the paint, they said they wouldnt insure more than $500 worth of damage. And their excess was double what NRMA's was.

Those Queenslanders stating their insurance could you add abit more info i.e:
    - How old you are
    - How much you're insuring your car for
    - TT or NA and List of mods and accident history/rating

I'm very surprised that many of you are under 2grand insurance.

Thanks for the input. I had a good talk to Just Car, and they seem to be the guys to be with. I was concerened how they were going to deal with future mod's but if you let them know what you doing, they are cool with it. The excess for an imported car is ridiculous though. $1100 per claim, $1900 if another driver, ouch. Tis the price that must be paid, i guess.

Im with just car paying $1900 pa but i have rims and stereo that they know about 3 previous accidents 2 of which were my fault no traffic infringements and im 21...However in not too sure that they know about all the accidents as the claims were made with other insurance companies

Oops forgot this temp site doesn't show your ride. Anyway my $1,500 full comp with NRMA was for a 15,250 valve of the car (2 seater, TT, Manual), with 18" wheels and some stereo (not much). No accident history or tickets. Only mods are Catback Exhaust and Bov's.

That's very promising - also very similar circumstances to what I'll be after, though I'd like to insure for alil more..closer to $20k

if i get a modified car ill be looking forward to bending over for justcars to eff me royally, probably about 2k a year, if unmodified ill look around but will still leave a rather mean dent, 19 years old, uh-oo.

    Try unique car insurance

I was with just car but their excesses are too high. I used to pay $1200 with just car now i pay $830, full comp, i'm 22 however non turbo. Give them a call low excesses and premiums. Also unlimited mods.

Who defected you at that accident? Did you have to get it checked out privately to proove it didnt contribute or did the insurance company do it for you. I would have thought that, from a insurance companys point of view, if the car was defective, they are laughing and dont have to do anything. I would be supprised if they did the investigating for you.

    $800 excess i think.
The cheapest quote I got by a long may, like $400 better than any other.
My claims history is very tainted too.

2g for insurance, let alone excess. Wow!!! id hate to be forking out those kind of figures.

    Just Car Insurance

    In response to OzJustin,

    Here is my insurance info:

    Live in Brisbane, QLD
Am 26 y.o. (got insurance last year, age 25) with Just Car.
Pay $1200 per year, insured for $15000
Twin Turbo, with the following mods:

    Aftermarket Turbos
    FM Intercooler
    Twin Airpods
    LSDiff
    HKS fully adjustable suspension
    Ray's Engineering Volk Racing Wheels
    $1500 MTX/Pioneer stereo system

Just Car Insurance was just about the only one who would insure me, even though I had no accident history for two reasons (apart from my mods):

Have had no previous insurance (just used my parent's car)
Car is kept in a carport, not a locked garage

I was really impressed with the amount I'm paying - and I get a rating one! I bought my car through prestigemotorsport.com.au and they have an extensive list of insurance companies you can contact.
