Hello peoples, I have another zed, this one is a freshly imported car and is in good condition overall good condition. It has front and rear strut bars but otherwise it is stock as a rock, with a reconditioned gearbox. True kilometers are unknown but the speedo claim 42000kms. There are some nice 17 inch Enkei (think thats them) rims with (shock/horror) very good rubber!!! The car was towed on and off arrival vessel, so I suspect that the reason the tyres are so good is because those freaking wharfies couldn't flog it!! Makes me wonder about my tyres. The blue paint is very nice and overall the car is in very good condition (not even the usual paint blemishes on the spoiler), however a very small rip on drivers side seat in usual spot. Mark (Zed4life) has checked over the car and reports that mechanically it is sound, however alternator will need to be replaced (just doing mine cost $200). Car will require compliance and registration, compliance can be arranged at circa $1200. A fully report will be done by Mark upon purchase, as well as a fullZedCare Program will also come with the car. The price is $10k as is with an estimated $12k on road with 12 months rego. Also worth mentioning that this one has series 2 wiring to injectors and various other sensors. Someone has spent some money on these! Also included are the japanese home made CD's left in glovebox. Some japanese pop crap
series 2 means what ??? This may well be in the tech section some where- but I can't find it, --- what is the advantage in series 2 wiring, and what is 'series two" anyway ? please be gentle if this is tooo stupid a question for a newbie. cheers
Series two wiring means the connectors are upgraded from the original types which are prone (as in 99%) to exposing terminals to the air which corrodes them. Somebody had the choice of replacing the originals, but chose to upgrade to these type.
welcome to thr forum, henpecked ... good to see that you tried to find the info on your own merits ... having said that, first rule of the forum is that NO question from a day one, first posting "newbie" is stupid ..!!! good stuff!!:thumbsup::wacko:
just out of interest what would you be looking at $$ wise to change it to a manual? nice looking ride other wise
The auto has just been fully reconditioned so it could be sold with a warranty to partly fund a manual conversion. There is a local mechanic in Brisbane who converts AT > manual trans...
