quick question guys what is the difference between the na cams and the tt cams? i have been told that na cams can be used when rebuilding/ reco/ upgrading a tt engine why is this i am presuming it has something to do with difference in profile, but i honestly dont know much if anything on this topic.
I would be interested in knowing this as well...... as I am in the middle of a engine build and am considering what to do with the "cams" which are currently "auto"
My understanding is that The NA and TT cams are the same except for the TT auto. The TT auto has different cams. It was detuned so the auto wouldnt self destruct.
yeh i have been told the same > both NA and TT cams are the same. i would still prob check it out and be 100% before u used them.
Re: yeh i have been told the same > There is a huge readup here. I found it intersting that the stock auto was faster to 160kmph (100MPH) than the stock manual.
TT and NA cams are the same when talking Manual Trans... The Auto Trans in an NA is also the same. The total height for these three mentioned cams is 40.5 mm, +/- 0.095 mm The difference with the TT auto cams are that they run less overlap compared to the other three. There is also a difference in turbo geometry with a TT auto, but I can't access those memory cells at the moment though.. Oh yeah - the height for a tt auto cam is the same as listed above....
