Ok guys, have run into major clearance problems due to the change of design of the gen2 gtx turbos and im hoping for a loan of some MS or ASHPEC manifolds to test fit for clearance. THEY WILL ONLY BE TEST FITTED. Happy to pay for freight and cover the cost of the replacement manifolds as a holding deposit.

The AMS and factory manifolds are going to require spacers at a minimum and the rgs performance dumps clash on driver side with the steering shaft (3-4mm clearance at best with new bde mounts.

    Thanks guys.

The clearance issue on the steering is something others have encountered before. Do a search but from memory this is overcome with a knockometer :D

The gen2 to my knowledge have no difference than the gen1 in dimensions.
Even some using MSP have had steering rod issues.
Just give the pipe a tap / dent. Hasn't hurt my performance lol.
Or buy RGS specially made to fit RHD car dumps

These are the rgs dumps. Poor rob has been copping a bombardment of messages from.me about it today. So its only the compressor housing which is slightly larger and mounts on housing have been rotated slightly. Ive tried both with and without a spacer between manifold and turbo, stuff all difference around the steering shaft.or starter.

Whats the minimum clearance i could safely run between dump and steering shaft and also starter. Ive got at best 3mm to shaft and about 5-6mm to starter at the absolute best. I think when the pipes were made they may hve been done so slightly different to robs and might be causing my problems, hoping rob has a answer for me as now its tools dow and wait.....aaaarrrggghhh, nothing can be simple

Update: rob seems to think it should be fine, ill be ceramic coating everything anyway so heat should be ok, after a couple hard launches i guess ill know if its to close

    Starter motor should be fine
Mine arnt coated and are similar proximity.

As for the rod, we just notched mine to give some clearance
Straight line won't be your issue but turning hard might be.
I occasionally can feel it brush on a hard turn.
(When I say hard I don't mean doing a full lock grandma turn, I mean taking a corner with a decent amount of speed)

First I've heard the comp housing being larger than the Gen1's I just though they made the wheel more efficient

Cgc checked them when i first noticed how close it was to the manifolds and they confirmed they are definitely slightly larger in frame and the mounting tabs have moved. With the same brackets as yours the actuator on passenger side is hard up on the chassis and flexibg about 5mm, going to need a custom bracket but gcg are coming to the party with that

I've got PE turbos with AMS manifolds and the turbos fouled the AMS dumps on one of the studs. Cut down the stud and put a low profile nut on it, and it's been fine... Exactly the same setup with stock manifolds did not foul. I only have at most a couple mm of clearance now and it's fine.
