I know I could just pull it... but figured I would ask.

car was an Auto and I've converted it to manual. A buyer wants the auto box but also wants the TCM.

Can I remove the TCM with no problems?

I have read on this forum that you don?t need it, but the ECU is Auto so it is expecting a signal from the Auto control box and when it doesn't get it there is an error. But then the car changes gear anyway (because manual) and the error becomes redundant.

It has been discussed on the forum and the ECU has to be swapped when the trans is swapped to avoid an error code.

removed it last night. got about 10 mins into my drive before I remembered that I had pulled it - so no immediate or noticeable changes.

On the plus side my "power" light no longer flashes errors at me when I turn the car on :)
