I fell in the trap of thinking all 300zx radiator fans were the same when I bought two of these cheap pieces of crap last year :(

These things are a poor excuse for a 300zx Radiator fan and I have too much money invested in zed motors to risk putting any of these cheap and nasty fans near my radiator, so I'm putting them up for sale to anyone who's interested (I was going to bin them but I decided to try and recover some of my wasted money instead)

I paid $69ea for them BUT I am open to offers from anyone who might want one (or both)....... I'll even include FREE delivery just to get rid of them

So if you want a cheap radiator fan and price takes precedence over quality, send me a PM and we can talk turkey.

Was that a side by side comparison photo?
    I couldn't spot the difference

That photo is of 2 x POS fans.......

You couldn't spot the difference because they are BOTH the same POS fan  (I was unfortunate enough to purchase TWO of them)

When compared with the Oem quality fan in the recently sabotaged Group Buy, they are like Chalk and Cheese

I'm telling it like it is.......

Your just not used to hearing the truth around here (this place spouts more BS than parliament house in Canberra )

I bought these fans under the false assumption of them being 'good quality 300zx Radiator fans' ........ I was sadly mistaken :bash: (I should have known, because when it comes to fans you get what you pay for)

I am now offering them for sale to anyone who is not particular about what fan they put on their zed (or any other car).

I heard recently of an individual modifying a Holden fan to fit the zed in order to save a few bucks, so there is a market for these fans when the price is right

    What's actually wrong...

    Gidday,

What's actually wrong with them, are they different in some way (it's not obvious from the photo) are they thinner, flimsier or do they not fit properly?
    Cheers!

They are different in nearly every aspect.......

They have a different fan blade profile, arch, length, pitch, direction etc, the mounting plate offset is different. They have thinner, flimsier blades and the overall quality falls short when compared to the Oem quality fans of the Group Buy.

The ONLY thing these fans share with the Oem is the bolt pattern ..... it WILL bolt up to the 300zx Viscous clutch assembly, so it CAN be used on a zed.

Its efficiency will be anybodies guess  Mr Nissan spent a fortune designing the Oem 300zx fan to optimise its efficiency and it has always proven itself to be the best.

In my research for the GB fans, I was amazed at the amount of crap vendors were trying to pass off as 300zx Radiator fans

These fans fall into that category, so if you're in the market for a budget priced fan to bolt onto your zed, PM me with an offer :br:

Easy way to tell if a vendor's selling junk.......

    * If the photo of the fan in a vendors ad is pretty small or shows next to no detail ...... it is JUNK

    * If the description with the ad is very vague and doesn't tell you anything about the fan .... it is JUNK

This is how they sell these low quality fans ..... it is deception by omission, you can't complain about what they don't tell you in the ad.

This is what an oem fan looks like ......

The quality plastic is even a different colour, it's sort of opaque compared to the colour of the POS fans. The POS fans are brand new but look used in comparison (refer to photo in the first post)

When I took delivery of the POS fans last year, it was immediately obvious why the vendors photo was so bloody lousy

might be the picture (OP) but it looks like the blades are not even uniform spacing or size?

The Nissan fan has uneven gaps between the blades, it must be more efficient that way. Similar to the way some newer home aircon has a pulse wave of cool air rather than a constant even flow. Helps push the air further? ?

This is the fan from my Zed, it is old enough to have cracks in plastic so it must be genuine and you can see tha uneven blade positions like the OEM quality that Ian was selling.

The better quality fan will have the exact moulded design and best suited plastic for the engine bay environment If the plastic looks uneven in sheen, colour or transparency then it isn't the top grade plastic, but a lower grade which has recycled plastic mixed in unevenly. There will be weaknesses in those parts, but it may not be anything to worry about because the design was probably overengineered by Nissan in the beginning. If I didn't already have a spare (and my GKTECH) I would have bought the group buy and if I missed out on that I would buy one of these, but I would still check for cracks and deterioration on whichever fan I used.
PS it is a lot easier to check for cracks and deterioration on a white fan than a black fan. Thank you Mr Nissan for using white plastic in original spec.

    Any offers .........

These fans could be okay on an NA, or a TT on stock boost AND they could be cheap as chips for those of you who are bargain hunters. They are both brand new, never even been trial fitted to a zed

PM me an offer, you might be surprised :D

Definitely a good price, Ian ..... especially for a POS fan that, as I read in a review, actually spins backwards .... now, there is a first ... !!!!

FULL disclosure and a realistic price ......

I am detailing all the facts about these fans (and pricing them accordingly) so nobody will get conned like I did.

So I just had my first temp warning light flash for the season. I had the aircon running with aux fan mod (thanks to Ian, I think) and I am using my OEM fan.

Just popped into this thread to show someone those interesting fan blade profile pics but what happened, they are gone?

Anyway this season is not the time to take chances with fan design or placement.
