You can upgrade the haltech with an external map sensor up to 10bar. Let me know what sort of pressure you want to run and I'd be only too happy to get you a quote on ECU, sensor, and any extras needed to put it together. I only carry haltech, can't help with wolf.

Worth noting that the wolf is actually more than 16x16. It is 16 load points over every 125rpm.

With everything else you have done chewy, why limit yourself to plug in?

Who is going to tune it? Are they comfortable with a Haltech/Wolf?

pick your tuner then your system, the wolf is a good system but probably only a fraction of as many good tuners out there

I would say that all the good tunas can tune wolf (or anything else for that matter) ;)

    Preference is another story

Also how well they can setup the car which I have found goes hand in hand with preference. Making the car run is 50% of the battle. Refining the tune, and setting up drive ability, plus setting all the features the ECU has on offer.

Seriously consider quality over price, even if it's a few hundred dollars more at the start (it wont be) the end results are WELL worth it & ongoing development is FAR easier if you go for a quality ECU to start with.

Currently up to around 425Kws at the hubs on GT2560Rs - something that would literally be impossible with a cheaper ECU.

We ditched the Emulator/flashed chip BS YEARS ago, gained about 30Kws on the spot simply going from a fully optimized reprogrammed factory ECU to a Link G4.
I spent a fair bit of time and money going through the process to make sure the comparison was as accurate as possible.

Short story is no mater what anyone says the stock ECU will never ever keep up with modern after market ECUs, we gained nearly 30Kws just changing the crank trigger system to one the stock ECU can not run so immediately just from that alone you are 30Kws behind with a stock ECU re flashed or re chipped or with an emulator/writable board.

I've been running the Adaptronic plugin for a while with good success. Installed and tuned myself - it's actually one of the easiest ECUs I've worked with settings wise and there is a wealth of knowledge out there. One of the few vendors that deal direct with the public for support.

The plug ins are waste spark and batch or semi sequential injection (4 injector drivers). If this is an actual limitation for us with 6 cyls is up to the user/tuner to decide.

Their e1280 ecu is well spec'd but not plug in, and uses different (more complicated) software to the plug in.

They also have just, or about to release a new modular line of ecu's that look very good also.

    Their forum is very helpful.

what would you consider to be the ultimate ECU?

I'd still like to keep the twin MAF setup rather than MAP. I current have GT2530 turbos but am thinking of changing them to GTX2867R.

Well if you want twin MAF AND go aftermarket ECU then you might look at Emtron.
    You can run:-

    Speed density (MAP and AIT)

    Speed density with EMAP correction

    MAF

Dual MAF where the ecu avereges the air mass. (Its in the plans for the future to be able to run one maf separate for each bank. IE not averaging)

MAF/MAP blend. Blend as you like. example you can run on maf(s) under vacuum and low boost and switch to map at high boost where the MAF might run out of resolution.

And im with Mungyz here. If you cant afford a GOOD aftermarket ecu, dont go with a cheap one... Save up instead. There IS a reason there is a price difference.

I never do cheap. I'd have the house paid off if I didn't have this car :)

I'll add Emtron to my list to look at.

If you are looking at Emtron, give Sean at EFI performance a ring to discuss

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

The wasted spark isnt an an issue anyway.
The injectors can be run semi-sequentially but due to limitations with the V6, a couple of the injectors will run at a different phase angle.

There wouldnt be too many on the forum here who would be able to determine a slight change in injector phase angle.

Many would be hard pressed to tell if the system was running batch fired anyway!!!!

So altho desireable at extremely low RPM and very slight throttle openings, fully sequential injection and very fine End Of Injection angle is far from necessary in the overall scheme of things for all but the very highest power queens!!!
