How far can the rear guards be flared with a roller ? Don't want to cut and weld or get bolt on flares.

2+0 Wanting to widen my wheels to 11". They will sit out of the guard so what I want to know is how far can the guard be pulled out with out extensive mods.

Iv got 4"space between run and spring with my 9" +6 Will the 11 hit the arm or the spring first Or should I play it safe an run 10.5 wide
It depends on panel condition/ skill and equipment etc. As a general guide: Flares up to 1 inch should be fine.......... 1 - 2 inch is common...... but the quarter can still buckle Above 2 inch / 2.5 inch and quarter panel will most likely buckle and need stress relief The more times it is progressively rolled or partially rolled, generally the better, but there are no guarantees after 2 inches due to the stress limits of the 1/4 panel. A buckled quarter is a real PITA to deal! Stress lines can be notorious to correct given they are under pressure from all sides. You will be pushing to find a quote with a figure above 2 inches at the arch for this reason (even if there are some guru's out there) JC :zlove:

Agreed I don't think you have a hope in hell of pushing the arch out by even an inch without needing work on the panel to keep it looking nice. These cars have been around long enough and the prices have dropped so far that a huge amount of the advice/information you can find out there is frankly utter bullshit posted by kids with no idea what the hell they are on about. Sure I bet you can get in there rough as all hell and move what ever you want as far as you want but at what cost? the car is likely to end up looking like one of those sack of crap "slammed" or "stanced" piles of junk that look like the wheels are about to fall off with patches or cable ties holding the bumpers on because they cut all the bumper tabs off to stop them rubbing on the tyres. (insert a few more lines of ranting) Anyway my advice is don't expect to move your rear panels out by more than an inch or so without having to do serious work to retain any decency in the aesthetics of your pride and joy.
Haha - someone kill the imperial system off once and for all Me too..........as your struggling after 1 inch / 2.5cm That's what playing with inches all day on my chevy does to you and then read the previous posts with inches on wheels fresh on my mind :rofl: Should have read cm instead of inches - soz It can be done above 1 inch / 2.5cm - but it generally it will buckle near the vertical line of the axle where the stress is the greatest Most guys will quote up to 2cm - 2.5cm. After that they get concerned with buckling. I doubt I personally would ever get over 2.5cm without buckling but I have seen some guru's out there perform magic, so I am not going to say it cannot be done even if I can't do it myself as I have seen it done before with my own eyes. Up to 1cm no problems 1 - 2cm should be fine but there is a very slight risk of buckling 2 - 2.5cm is about the limit before buckling is more than likely 2.5cm and beyond is a gamble and takes a guru Hope that helps - I wish the imperial system would just die out once and for all :rofl: Cheers JC :zlove:
no way you will pump 2" My wide body is 2" with a cut and shut you can pump about 10 - 15mm to still look normal/factory continue and it will flare ,(look terrible ),then buckle also limited where the quarter meets the rear bar .
Thanks Super Z for clearing that up And Black Beast your right anything over the 15mm will loose the sleek look of the car and I don't want that. I'm not trying to push boundaries or do anything crazy I'm just getting wider wheels and am just doing some reasurch into what I'll be getting myself into if I go 11". I'm running 10" now as I'm sure most of you are without any trouble so I was just seeing if another inch on top of that would require work. I think 10" so that I can have more dish and push my guards out 15mm would be to go after all the info you guys have provided Thanks
