For memory if you are still running an auto ecu, you will need to rig up a wire to go into the ecu to get your reverse lights working, there is a write up somewhere about it, or just buy a manual ecu just as cheap and less hassle.

Goto google images and type this
    300zx coloured wiring images

    or........ try this link

    http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/main/view/1094626/ECCS-Wiring-Diagram-in-color.html

    or.......

Send me your email address - I will send the large pics I have - I always have a hard time making these pics large online - lol

    To clarify again:

The manual states you need to locate pin 20 in the diagram - this wire runs from the gearbox switch to the gearbox control unit to the ECU - this is the wire your missing when you disconnected the loom and put nothing back in place of it (as you no longer needed all the connectors wires) - just the one wire is still needed!

............so...... go to your gear change wiring loom inside the car and look at the connectors (about three of them their near your gearbox selector) - locate the green/white one (confirm this - I am just going of the manual(- this is the wire your looking for - you now just need to run it to your gearbox wiring loom /switch !
