    Hi gang,
I removed the plenum y'day, (SOB) from my 3/93 NA Aus 2+2. Q1: Upon removing the large and small hose on the passenger side, at rear bottom of plenum ( same on opposite side) I noticed the larger hose had a solid metal disc inside, which I found as the hose was full of crud, AND IT BROKE APART#!!#^. Once cleaned up the disc revealed a small hole in the centre
, I assume it is a restrictor/valve?? of some sort. Do these come with OEM replacement hoses? Is it factory or has a previous owner put it in?
Q2: Unlucky for me the 'pull' also revealed that I have the 'old' square connect NA injectors, #6 rooted, reason for the pull, I had got my hands on a nice set of 'oval' type injectors complete in fuel rail (40K miles). I have read that if I swap the entire rail/injector assy etc. I am required to modify the plenum on the #1 injector as it prevents the larger connector from locating...true/false? if true what has to be done to the plenum and are there any other issues with swapping out these units. and finally.....what is meant when parts resellers (like CAZ etc) refer to 1993 NA CV model as opposed to 1993 NA? What is CV?

    Cheers Vulcan, Darwin NT

    More questions to come....

You are trying to put series 2 injectors in. To do this you will need

    Series 1 rail
    Series 1-2 adapters
    Series 2 injector connectors
Yes you will need to grind the plenum

Why are you changing injectors on an NA?

CV is convertible, for whatever reason the convertible (different to T-Top) cars changed injectors at a different time to the other models.

Do you know what the injectors you got came out of? They may already have these adaptors, if so they'll bolt in https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/description.php?II=4792 As for modifying the plenum you just grind away a bit of material from a bracket that runs over injector 1, install the rails then dummy fit the upper plenum and you'll figure it out. Also, are you sure they're NA injectors?

    Plenum hose advise required-replys

Rob260 :I knew I had a bad injector and had the chance to get what looked like a good set complete with rail (all mounted). As I have a 93 and these were out a 93 NA (270cc) I grabbed them. They look great except for 1 pintal cap is bust (freight) I have a full seal replace kit. I discovered I had the old ones when I pulled the plenum, the injector type changed in 9/93 bad luck me. it was not an intentional decision.
So, I can replace the 1 bad S1 unit and get the rest recond in my original set OR throw the S2 set in and have a different bunch of issues. I have to change the connectors( or harness) anyway as the connectors are crapola. what do you advise as you know heaps more than me. <g>

Michandy: Thanks for the tip re OEM

Fists: damn....is that all it means, that been bugging me for ages, cheers bro.

If your connectors around the loom for other things like IACV, AFM and CAS are looking dodgy too I would strongly recommend a new loom from wiring specialties. They're a bit pricey but if you want to keep your car and get it nice and reliable fresh wires and connectors are a great investment.

Getting the adaptor collars and putting the late style injectors in your rail would probably be my choice but you wont have much trouble finding a single early style 270cc injector, I have some that have been cleaned around somewhere if you choose to go that way.
