Great list of tools. Spanichabod? thread about PTU repair, made good use of a wire crimping tool. I think one of those would be a useful addition.
Ha it's not just your own car that can break down on a cruise though -besides I like having a set of "spare" tools I can take to a tech day etc while my "house" tools stay safely locked up at home
For a quick fix, you can use rescue tape (the silicone one) for repairing split hoses. Will get you out of a fix if a hose blows. Personally, I just never drive the thing... and buy premium roadside assistance in case I need it. Not giving a **** also helps
Thought this was a fairy handy set to use as a travel kit, even has a test light. https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/certa-81-piece-metric-tool-set/ Know all caveat: No its not Snap_on quality, yes you could use road side assist, yes your car should be checked in in good nick before long trips.
I use these tools to get to the nearest garage My opinion is I would add the following in addition Strong Large Black Plastic Ties Gator Grip Socket: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ny4H...yer_detailpage Long nose pliers Spare Fuses Telescopic Magnetic Pickup Tool with Light Multimeter Electrical Tape Plumbing Tape Spanner Set 10/12/13/14/15/17/19 For long trips I would also add: Some strong tie wire - small roll 2m Spare Fan/ Aircon and PS belts Small car solar panel (plug in or wired in) Water 5L Small Socket Set as per spanner sizes Emergency Roadside Lights (small portable) 2 x adjustable lockable ratchet straps (1-2m) 1 Pair locking Multigrip Pliers 1 File Spare Nissan Relay Small first aid kit Most of the above doesn't consume much space except for the water / fan belts and small 2w solar panel (approx. 20cmx 20cm) and so will fit into a small tool bag. There are many other handy tools but they can be obtained at an average garage station whereas I have found these tools are what's needed to get to that nearest garage station :zlove: JC
Whenever I go anywhere, I take my 1/4 drive set, 3/8 set, ratchet spanners, screwdriver set, various long nose pliers, magnet on a stick, electrical tape, spare ecu, spare ptu, zip ties, water, rags, hose clamps and sometimes the low profile ramps. Oh and multimeter.
