Never seen such a thing before. None of it is OEM though so
I will put my flame suit on and continue...

There is nothing wrong with the OEM components in the Trans. All engineered to spec and has gone through rigorous testing to be sure of a good reliable product. These companies come along and claim better materials, higher grade parts and will fix issues I've never heard of in a healthy RE4R03A. It's almost like random generic tired Auto issues to make you think "gee, I bet mine has that" or "what if mine has that!"

Your trans has lasted a quarter of a century now. Probably hasnt been serviced regularly (not say you, but in its life) either! Which is pretty damn good! A trans really should be serviced as often as the engine. Yours is just feeling tired these days is all.... She's old :(

Considering this, it's not that the trans needs a "shift correction kit" or needs "better" aftermarket parts, the poor thing just needs a freshen up! Which is what this product technically claims to do, but in a way that makes it sound like the trans was like the way it is off the show room floor!

This kit isn't "easy to install", you need to take the whole trans out and disassemble it! If your not mechanically inclined or just don't know what your doing when it comes to autos then don't risk it! Take it to a shop to be fitted. But in all honesty, it would cost you the same amount as getting it reco'd with genuine or OEM parts. And I bet the shop won't warranty non OEM parts they fit in.... How could they? It's some kit off eBay

8300zx9 has no idea what he's talking about  Nothing wrong with that kit but TransGo ones are better. Drop the valve body out and mod it with kit . Put it back in and feel the difference . Night and day really
Any good trans shop will fit one of these non OEM kits for you if you give them the valve body. but its not that hard if your careful and take your time

I spoke to the guy at the trans shop yesterday and he said pretty much the same as you Warren300 :D. They install quite few shift kits and expect it to take around 3-4 hours to install. They also recommend the Transgo brand too!

I reckon I'll go for it., thanks guys

    Shift kit

The shift kit you found on eBay , is the best one I have tried for our trans , I have tried a few including the transgo version ,
Something to consider , Transgo owns the term shiftkit , this is where the confusion starts, the trans go correction kit is exactly that , it will require you to strip your trans to fully install it , basically it does the same as later versions of Re transmissions have from factory, The superior Transmissions Shift correction package , is a shift kit as we know it , it will increase your line pressure tighten shift timing ect , I have fitted a few of these with good results , as long as your trans is in reasonable shape it will work fine.
