OK, so my aerial is stuck up and I can't get it to go back down, either with motor or feed it in manually. Can hear the whirring of the motor as it tries to move it, but nothing happening, guessing the rope is broken or come loose for some reason. Now I've looked at the tech section on aerial repair/replacement, but the guide for removing it seems to require the aerial to be all the way down. With mine stuck up like the pic below, I can't remove the entire assembly and not sure how I can get the aerial to go down. I really don't like the look of it sticking up, ruins the look of the car IMO! Any advice would be appreciated.
Snap it off and then follow the tech section guide But seriously, have you tried using crc/wd40 to loosen it up? Maybe that and a good smack on the top will do it?
Once you remove the nut/collar at the base of your exposed telescopic Ariel, you should be able to pull/jerk it free and take it out(complete with the Nylon toothed drive belt that is attached). If the Nylon belt isn't broken, you may have to pull it sharply to get it to separate from the Drive Mechanism(there is nothing holding it into the tube/body other than the top domed collar/nut).:zlove:
