Im definitely not a photographer...these are about as good as Im going to get prior to the cut off date for a calendar submission. Ive taken on board what people have said and this is the result....any worthy of a submission??...comments would be appreciated... 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
Those are great pictures. Just the whole calendar thing is a stupid waste of time, all the entry requirements ect are a joke. No group shots, resizing images ect. I could make a calendar without any entry requirements and send it out for free.
cool, you go do that then... Photo's look heaps better simlenton, good angles/shots & a really cool background. It's amazing how much better you get with a camera once you start playing with it a bit more, dont just do it for the calendar though, get out there & keep playing around cheers, Tim
that looks like the dumpy outside the tourist centre in newman. where abouts do you live? nice car, nice pics
I was about to say the same! For the first 2 photos, the idea is there. Bring the zed a bit farther away from the background then focus on the car to blur out the yellow mammoth. Create a bit of an angle between the two machines then space out a bit to give it an impression that the zed has got some ground around her. Will come out with a good bokeh... Well done, Simon... Arvin
Knew it looked familiar haha. Was working at whaleback a few months back! Can't believe I didn't see your zed around town
Great looking Z there Simlenton, you're photos just keep getting better and better! McLovin, I don't know what your problem is, but you definitely don't seem to understand WHY I have the guidelines for the calendar...if all the photos we're group shots that would be fine, but having 1-2 random groupshots would be odd, plus the idea is to reward people for having nice examples of the Z32, not split the limelight between 1-10 cars. As for resizing, there isn't mention of that, but there is about size restrictions, this is down to the end printing quality. You may not know, but what looks fine on a computer screen doesn't mean it will look good in print. I won't bore everyone with the details of it, but you need roughly 4x larger images than screen size to make it print with good details. So you may think its "a stupid waste of time" and that's your choice, but the guidelines are ALL there for a reason. If you want to go ahead and make your own calendar, then go for it! If you want to send it out for free, that's great! But I can tell you on both counts its not as easy as you think! Not to mention that this is a forum FUNDRAISER!! After all costs and donations I'd make a couple of dollars per calendar for about 100+hours of work that goes on behind and infront of the scenes. Before I started this calendar, there was no calendar for the forum. I'm someone who got off my butt and took the time to offer a customised calendar for all forum members! Pay out all you want, but I think you should ask why there are restrictions before complaining about them! Sorry for taking over your thread Simlenton
Well said! I won't hesitate in buying a copy once it's finished, Nor will I hesitate next year to enter a few shots once I get the front bumper fixed up
Nicely said Andrew... Some people think that an out of focus picture, of two zeds in a dark car park will make an awesome calendar photo. It wont. It looks shit. Calendar photos need to be good photos and then have a little bit extra about them. Not crappy photos we have taken on our phones. On top of that, if people are taking photos of their cars, take off your damned P plates (if you have them)!! It ruins the photo.
Thats alright...I agree with you....That negative attitude is not what this forum is all about.....some members need to remenber that
To do such a nice zed justice, may I suggest finding someone with a decent camera up there and get them to take some shots. No offence on what you've done but from experience I found getting a pro is worth the money. Not too many roads up there to take the zed on I bet. Not one like yours anyhow.
