Hi guys have just fully rebuilt my wastegates with new stainless guides and stainless pressure cups. hooked them up to air compressor and regulater. they open at 20psi! is this just crazy or are some springs in wastegates this hard?

    Stock Actuator? Heeeell no.

Aftermarket? Need more information on them.

Plus the 3rd explanation though unlikely, gauge might be off.

    gauge is brand new.

wastegates are blitz C42. they are of the kit im rebuilding.

it opens near on exactly 20psi so makes me think they are made to hit around those numbers.

In that case, I yield to those with greater experience.

Possible. That kit you bought had giant turbo's probably off a drag car, wouldn't surpise me too much if it had tight springs in it.

yeah what i thought! the turbos have a slightly smaller turbine wheel then 3071 and a weird size compressor wheel whith a exducer slightly smaller then 3071. max boost 4.5-5k lol. lag city..............wheel spin then change gear lol

external wastegates will scare people but if im hitting 20psi with these puppies on the street then i will be doing warp speed i think

Dont run them like that. Buy some new springs at say 12 psi. Then use a boost controller to get your 20 PSI+.

If you have 20 PSI springs it really is a pretty high minimum boost given how hard it is to drive a 14 psi boosted car in the wet.

I'll have you know that before NYE, the last girlie drink I had was at Easter!!

I even bought a whole carton of impoted Beer the other day

Anyway, who goes boosting around in the rain? Let alone with turbo's the size of jet engines...

For anyone interested i have fully rebuilt these with 1 bar springs now. so it will open up at 14psi. My engine is healthy so im going to install these with 800cc injectors and see how much it puts out on 14psi with stock engine. Im hoping for around 300rwkw with a safe tune. what do other people think???

this will be the last thing i do to the TT as i might sell it and concentrate on my ls1 conversion which has passed first engineering inspection.

    Sounds like fun!

I have mine around 10psi minimum which is high 290s at the treads and still hard to handle on road tires. Sounds like you are using pretty big turbos I think 14psi will get you to 300s...

Yep if everything is working for you, then you can get 300rwkw with 14 PSI
