Hi guys, just got my low beams converted to HID's and im very happy with the kit and install. I got the kit for a good price and asked the guy if he would have enough for a big order and he said he could make an order for me. Im thinking of H1 and H3 type kits for the zed but if any other types are needed i could ask the guy and also it would come in 35w kits but if bigger size ballast is needed i can also ask for prices, so please let me know interest. I was just wondering if there was enough interest i would go ahead with the group buy. Im trying to get the kits around the AU$65 range plus shipping which shouldnt take over 2 weeks. So if you are interested put your name here and once there is enough interest i can make an order. Thanks guys.

Another HID kit group buy would be a complete waste of time. So many people were in, and there were massive delays and confusion regarding orders - all to save $5. That little of a saving is simply not worth the amount of effort and waiting.

Go on eBay to seller Optolamps and get your kit for $70.

Ive got a price confirmed and i can get the kits for $60 plus delivery for the 35w kits and the kits will be send locally so shouldnt take more than a week for delivery. He has also said he can get slim kits as well as different size ballasts from 35w, 55w, 75w and 100w kits. So if anybody is interested just put your name here and i can let the guy know about how many people are interested. Thanks guys.

people called me mad for getting 55w lows. a friend of mine's got 75w in his Supra, and it's so blinding that whenever we're on the road together I get him to lead. 100w, unless in the high beams, is insane.

i'm going 35w lows and 100w highs in my next z. but that's only because I want to be able to light the southern hemisphere. i have my reasons.

Also, on this topic - When ordering a kit like this, we opt for 12 volt yeah? 100w kits are bloody expensive...

    While I'm here: 55w 4300k lows. Go 35.

Ive got 55w kit on low beams at the moment and im going to get my fog lamps and high beams converted to hid's tommorow. And the setup im having is fog lamps will be 55w and my high beams will be 75w. I got told not to have more than that on the zed as it could melt the housing as it gets really hot. So maximum i would recommend would be my setup. And like Anti said...its really bright and wider than normal halogens and they are quiet blinding, but so worth it and id recommend it to anybody.

Where did you hear our housings couldn't take 100w? How sure of this are you?

Possibly some confusion creeping in. There have definately been some posts on here about the housings not taking 100w halogen bulbs for long periods of time without damage (from memory Tekky was one who believed this). Then others like me ran / run 100w for a few years or longer without problem. Who knows.

However I don't know whether x watt HID bulbs generate more or less heat than their halogen counterparts.

The guy that i got my kit off had a look at me and told me that. He even showed me a headlight he used to test and the housing had actually melted as it got too hot and he said he wouldnt recommend it. He has the same setup im having on my zed. And the kits on ebay are the cheap kits that are not properly made and dont last that long, and thats when i heard about this guy i got my friend to contact him and he got me a set after i saw the kit and how good it was. But im pretty sure that 100w would be too high even for high beams as that guy would know more about that sort of thing than me. But its your choice as maybe you might not have it on for long, so you never know.

I honestly dont know. That is what i got told and im not willing to risk it on my zed and plus its not like i use my high beams a lot and so maybe it will work fine. But 75w is high enough and is way cheaper than the 100w kit. End of the day it is personal choice. I went for a good setup and with good kits as they last longer and are better quality than the ebay kits so im a very happy customer :)

you can get a HID kit for under $50 delivered on ebay now,
and how/who to deal with faulty component?

    so why bother?

The kits you can find on ebay are of lower quality and if you look at how many hours they last, you can see the difference. There are different types of HID kits out there and the cheaper quality ones are what they sell on ebay for so cheap because they dont last that long and the quality and brightness isnt as much. I can confirm this as the guy has showed me the difference between his kits and ebay kits. I have got both my low and fog lights converted so far with the kits i have bought of him and it is of very high quality and the brightness is incredible. So im one happy customer.

Thing is about all the kits from JayCar, Strathfield, eBay, UAS or FSNZR is that they all come from the same sweatshop...

I think he gets the kits from overseas straight from manufacturer. I can ask him to confirm. I paid extra for my kits to get the AC kits whereas the DC kits are the ones you find on ebay, and im sure not many people know that the different types exist. The DC kits are obviously cheaper but still good quality but the AC kits are higher quality.

I can guarantee that you can get kits off eBay cheaper than this, and with a 12 month warranty. Also, 100w kits are fine in our cars, but not recommended as our projectors are not specifically designed for HIDs and would still blind the crap out of other drivers.

You'd have to be batshit to put 100w's in your lows.
