Hope no other zed owners had plans to ever get into HPI (or whatever it is called now), cause now they've had the best, and I think they've used up their few pro-300zx comments for a lifetime! Good form Big Karl!
Lol, true Mikey. I think Karls appearance in HPI mag has now ruined it for the rest of us to have a shot in it by comparison. :br:
Love how clean this car is! Awesome work Karl, I love how clean your Zed is. Every mod looks it was done by a special tunning house like a Tommy Kiara, AMG, FPV or something. Even thing looks like it came with the car! It's all the little details, like the ECU talk, the gauge cluster, boost controller to name a few that I love the most oh and the slick engine bay. If I could get my Zed to just half the standard of this car I'll be very happy. Perfect choice in turbos too! A good lesson for all those veilside, multi-LCD screen, momo steering, sub woofer, neon light, ferrari tailed douche bags; on how to modify your car with style & good taste. Love it!
I think whoever gets in one next should rope in the *SHOW/BUILT* Z's in the nearby area for a full spread to shove it up the "300ZX are a overheating boat" army.
Work mate got the mag yesterday. VERY nice and does you credit. Also nice to see the other Z in their as well but this is your thread and it was definately a good spread.
Got mine a few days ago, came in pack with a past issue (120, feat. a 240Z) and DVD, best part is certainly the pics of your car. Looks AWESOME on the page and really sets a great benchmark for the 300ZX. Hope others get out and buy it too and let the magazine how much they enjoyed the article. http://www.hpi.com.au/contact Let them know that we appreciate these articles and will support and open our wallets for magazines that get past the '300ZX = heavy and overheating' myths!
Thankyou all for your kind words. It has been a life long dream that has unfolded, to build a show quality Z32 and featured in a respected national magazine, and I couldn't have done it with support of many people from this bunch of like minded poeple. Sorry if I did not remember to mention you all but I specifically would like to thank for their help and advice; Benny_C Wizard Rollin drz400y K-zed Chrispy DriftSpec I hope to be finishing the interior off in the coming months and extracting the last bits of power I can from the engine. Going forward there is a few car shows that I have marked for attending so I hope to bring more good news of success. I will also be competing in LapZ at Lakeside in May which should be very good fun.
This vehicle is truly superb. Karl you have achieved an absolutely stunning example of the species. I bow to you sir!!
Karl, is the PI mag a qld publication? I have tried several news agencys around here and no one carries it. Might be a GB if others are having the same problem.
Australias best Zed As quoted in the PI mag Iv'e got no problem with that, What you have made there Karl is a credit to you and your expertise in creating one of the best Zeds iv'e ever seen and iv'e seen plenty on both sides of the world. I remember answering plenty of your questions at the Coona Zedfest where mine was probably the benchmark back then picking four trophies, (entrants choice, peoples choice, rice is nice, and top engine bay) Since then you have taken yours to another level, well done. A word of warning with your upcomming tilt at Lakeside, it is very addictive and you will want to keep comming back for more and more, to the extent that car shows will no longer do it for you and all you will want is track time, which is not a bad thing, but be warned. Again well done.
