    Guys,

Need some advise on my car alarm.

I fixed up my HID kits on the weekend. Took off my headlights and fixed everything properly. Its all good now.

But now the alarm is not workin. The led for the alarm in the cabin is all blinking but when i press the buttons to lock the car, its not locking.

    Guys any suggestions.

    Cheers

is the alarm itself working?? like does it do everything else it was meant to??

check the wiring under the dash into the alarms control box, also check associated fuses and any wiring thats in the engine bay makign sure you didnt cut or jam it in any way

Does the alarm have an 'open bonnet' switch. Its usually drilled into the rad support and will look like a tube piece of plastic or steel.

    Usually a single wire.

If you've knocked the wire off, or broken the switch, some systems think the bonnet is open and will not function correctly.

I'll bet this is the case.
Similarly you can't activate the alarm (lock doors etc) with a door open

Im not sure the alarm was connected to the Bonnet switch but very true guys. When i was fixing back the left head light, i found this yellow wire. So i just left it on top but didnt know what was it for. I think the metal piece wire which suppose to be connected to the bonnet switch on the left hand side broke. The plastic switch didnt break though. Only the wire connected to the metal piece where the metal piece is the connected under the bonnet switch broke. But i just tried pressing the stick with the wire connecting to the meatl piece and pressing the alarm controller to lock back the doors, it couldnt lock back (not working).

How can i fix this problem. Do i have to refresh the whole alarm system or ..... Probabily i got to open up the left head light again and track down the wire which suppose to be connected to the stick.

If my explanation is too confusing, i will post the pics tomorrow. Please let me know if you guys need it.

    Im confused guys.

    Help please.

    I understood you.

For shits and giggles, buy another bonnet switch and wire it back up properly. Will cost you under $5 for the switch.

Make sure there aren't any more floating wires and go from there.

Close all the doors, and bonnet and try to arm the alarm as normal.

If nothing. Report back to us.

Alternatively, there is always a valet switch for alarms.

From what ive experienced, they master over ride the alarm system. If for some reason your alarm has reverted to this valet mode. It will not function as it should.

They use a I/O sequence generally to trigger the alarm to make it function.

    eg. on-off-on-off-on.

    5 I/O pulses.

If you can work out the brand of your alarm system. Google it for the installation booklet. And work out from that what the arming sequence is.

If you have any issues pm me and ill give you my number, i will explain it over the phone.

I went down this track a while ago after a dash pull on amandas blue zed. The one you saw at the dyno day.

Took me forever to find the info on the net but it came good.

    Shouldnt be anything too serious.

    Cheers.
