    Trust me Madcow!

    Staying where all the Zed crew are and getting your party on a stone's throw from your own bed is an experience not to be missed (especially Black Baz 'n' Cindy, ha, ha, ha)!

    I've never met a group of people so much fun to hang, chill and imbibe with (yup... I actually partook in the alcohol-fueled fun'ness this time! :eek: )!!!

    I am so in, and I'll be staying at the Trappers with the whole crew - soaking in the ambiance, and spending every possible moment with the most aweZome people on the planet!!!

    Iain..... :zlove:

    here is some info below that she has sent me....

    2011 ZCAR NATIONALS update report.

    This will be a periodical update report on our progress as we prepare for the event planned for Easter 2011. Being staged in Goulburn NSW by the hosts, the ZCAR Club of Sydney.

    Progress for the program thus far:

    FRIDAY?S WELCOMING;

    Preliminary discussions taking place now regarding the Venue, Catering etc. which will be more positive as indication of the number of Participants are better known.

    SATURDAY?S CONCOURS; (and breakfast)

    We have successfully had Approval with our bookings for the Saturday Concours in the City Square which includes the use of the Central Pack complete with Road Closures, signifying this specific event by the Goulburn City Council.

    Deposits have been paid and further regulatory requirements are required as we get closer to the event like proof of separate Public Liability Insurance and the normal assurances of Care, Cleanliness and Behavior etc. because we are guests and the event is open to the Public.

    SATURDAY EVENING: TBA

    SUNDAY?S RACE DAY;

    We have also successfully had Approval with our bookings for the Sunday Race Day at Wakefield Park Raceway, complete with all of the Track Facilities and Safety Equipment and the assurance of the use of their nominated Insurance Coverage for our Participants, Volunteer Marshals and the Public.

    Deposits have been paid and also as with the council certain Regulations have to be adhered to along with the Racing Regulations including Conduct of all attending.

    SUNDAY?S BUS TOUR;

    Preliminary discussions taking place now regarding Tour Venues.

    SUNDAY?S PRESENTATION DINNER;

    Preliminary discussions taking place regarding Venue, Catering, Shuttle Bus etc. which once again will be booked as we get closer and a better indication of participant numbers are known.

    Please Note;

    We have enlisted the services of a Goulburn local ?Special Events Organizer?
    Megan Barnham, whom I worked with developing our 2005 Nationals, and because of her close associations and her reputation in organizing several successful events has placed us in a more advanced position with more achieved earlier than 2005.

    Megan as well as our Negotiating Communicator with Council/Wakefield/Venues/Bus tours etc. is totally responsible for all of the Accommodation Bookings! This is most important as the Discount is Paying for our Saturday?s Breakfast at the Concours (by the local Lions Club or similar.)

    I am currently constructing a ?Critical Path Analysis? to include all important action groups and responsibilities and identifying where volunteers will be invited to assist and lend a hand to make this event more pleasurable for all
    .
    We are also sending ?Personal Invitations? to all of the Qld. Nationals Entrants/Nisan Datsun Sports Owners Club-Vic./the Sydney Datsun Club/the 300ZX Club Association as well as our Members and have now posted the official notification on our Home Page, please check for Updates.

    still gathering info on the accom front... will post up any info on that asap. i'm aiming to have it locked it by end of next week :zlove:

    Last year at Warwick it was very much us and them. For those of us that did not want to go racing, it was way over the top to pay a couple of hundred just to get to participate in the shine and show and the dinner.

    It would be nice if we could be part of the official Nationals without having to pay the track fees.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

    I think it's always going to be an "us" and "them" scenario the way it's set up unfortunately. And having to be a participant for entry to the Show 'n' Shine, Pres dinner, etc.. makes me personally not want to participate in those actual activities. At least we can just go and spectate, and for other events - even presentation dinners there's always the option of arranging our own aus300zx do's that won't impede on them, but still have all of our own crowd together and enjoying it....? :)

    Several years ago, the majority of the 300zx clan stayed at Trappers.
    One of the best reasons for that decision, was that it was central to both the Show & Shine in central Goulbourn and Wakefield Park for the spirited members.
    And NO Benny, not of the alcohol variety. :rofl::rofl:
    Plenty of accommodation there for those that prefer a compfy bed and a good restaurant on site, as well as Subway, Macca's etc right next door.

    Cheers

    Hey Kerry

    Yep, Trappers looks awesome in terms of their facilities and location and the fact that it comes so highly recommended by so many members is a great thing!! ....my only concern is that they have 74 rooms which means there is no way we will fill it to ourselves which means we'll be in the same situation of being shooshed at 10pm and told to go to bed..... this has been an issue at every annual event i've been to, hence the reason many people have asked to get a smaller hotel that we can book out to ourselves so as not to disturb other guests......

    so far, haven't found one....

    the search is still on...

    Other clubs also took rooms at Trappers last time (2005?) and I do not recall any curfew being imposed. Party Central rooms were surrounded by our group and didn't really spill outside.

    The track entry fees are not part of the standard entry. You have to pay extra to compete in the motorsport sectopn.

    I was considering driving halfway the day before, staying the night somewhere like Coffs Harbour or Tamworth, depending on the route the majority take to get there, and just joining up with the bunch for the rest of the trip down. Driving there in one go isn't going to work for Teegan... anyone else interested in doing something like this?
