Give this a read mate, a suspension representative gives a good unbiased opinion on other springs, etc. on the market and why Ohlins make some of the best gear out there. Also Bilstein struts are awesome too.

at that price i think you'll find they're not coilovers but infact a spring/shock combo, like getting KYB AGX's & eibach springs, still meant to be pretty good though. They're the gold ones yeah?

As long as they're in good nick, no leaks or marks on the shafts, then its a bloody good price.

Yeah great price if they're not leaky, I'm all for European performance shockers over Japanese manufactured ones, a well matched Strut and Shock combo > cheap Coilover option and will offer more grip and better ride, grab the Ohlins! :)

Rumour has it that there are two types of Ohlins. The ones made in Sweden and the ones made in Japan. Most of the Skyline ones are made in Japan apparently and aren't to the same standard... I don't believe that they make Ohlins for the Z.

Don't know how true it is though.

if they make them for the R32 GTR then they can be made to fit the Z

    re ohlins

I have a set on my zed they came off a r32 gtr gold with adjustable spring height etc. Ohlins used to be swedish however they are made in japan under license. As to difference in quality I cannot comment.
I would be surprised if Ohlins would allow another company to make an inferior product under license. jap stuff if good.

I am happy with the shocks certainly far superior to the standard shocks, even with the standard springs. Changed the springs later to the whiteline products. Again an improvement but used the whiteline sway bars as well in the change.
Most important is make sure they are not leaking. Have a good look as they can be cleaned up to look pretty.
