Brake lights

    Hi guys im having an issue with brake lights not working !

    However When the headlight are on they come on with driving lights and stay on. I Have checked the switch on brake pedal and eliminated that any ideas please.

    Check the wiring bungle in the boot, look for cracked insulation on the wires.
    Seems like one of the positive wires from parking lights shorting on positive wire of the brake lights, thus you have brake lights when you turn your headlights on.

    So have painstakingly unwrapped the mess that is the wiring and cant find any cracked wiring...could that dreaded little black box be my problem?

    If you referring to tail light sensor, I doubt that your problem is there.
    It's 25 y/o wiring harness it could be anywhere.
    It's hard to explain in few lines, but you need to trace it down...
    If you can test the circuit conductivity from brake switch to the tail lights do that!
    if you find that you have short there rewire brake circuit from switch to the point in the boot that you already eliminated any fault. And cut out old circuit...
    That would be easiest way to go about.
