I've been a bit of a lurker in the Z world for quite a long time, and remember following Mungyz's original build thread for his blue slick top on the old NZ300ZX forum. I always thought it was one of the coolest Z's out there! Anyway, he sadly sold the Blue Z in 2017 to put the money into his new NZ Superlap car - the infamous Nissan March (I call it Pikachu personally ;)).

Anyway I saw it come up for sale a few time on Trademe.co.nz over the years during it's time on the wilderness, and wished I could buy it for myself, but I was at Uni so it wasn't possible. Anyway it finally came up for sale late last year and I pounced. The car was in a bit of a state after it's 4+ years in the wilderness and needed some serious TLC (although it turned out much MUCH more than expected!), but most of the parts were still there. In needed to put a clutch in it before I could move it, but that was just the start... many more much more serious and gory mechanical issues caused by some shocking negligence for a previous workshop lay in wait..

So, I did the only sensible thing and called Blue Z's dad, Glenn (aka mungyz).. Within a couple of weeks it was with him, and the beginning of what turned into a significant rehabilitation - but subsequently upgrade process. Now, nearly 9 months and 25 YouTube episodes later (see bottom link) she's almost done! Glenn has been awesome, I really appreciate his talent, humour, and integrity - it's been a super fun although expensive process. Most of that is down to both of us continually coming up with new ideas and goals. I also wanted to bring it back being nicer to drive the road for cross-country road tripping, so now has a few more creature comforts such as air conditioning again. Anyway, I recommend checking out the videos linked below, it's been a bundle of fun :)

Awesome, I remember Glenn's blue beast! Great to see it's getting looked after again.
I couldn't see any images in your links (will check out the video's though definitely), try & get some up in this build thread, it's a great looking zed!

Yes there doesn't seem to be too many pics, or the links have broken (it was ages ago after all lol).

Yes please do, the videos are great, and a lot to see there lol. It's not just a fix up either, Glenn has also been able to further develop his ideas with the car (as posted about here more than 10 years ago lol), it's been super fun :)

We just have to get the air conditioning commissioned, I have few little jobs once its back like tuning in the EDFC Active Pro damper controller etc.
Then I guess I'll bang it on FB marketplace and see if I can swap it for a Mazda MPS or something.
