well if your starting a convo about which is better then heres my opinion... 2JZ tiny more power standard, stronger engine, but..... very expensive parts(not that zed's arnt) and a shit sounding engine... i would choose the 300 just for the sound of them with a kaki hehe...

you cant really compare a stock turbo setup with boost, to a MASSIVE turbo with Haltek.....

Pretty cool though how with some good tuning you can get a car running 9psi less to leave the other one behind!

Both 3L 6 cylinder engines, not a bad effort on the 2JZ's behalf...good exhaust sound too, not as good as the Rb26 though :D...or a worked Z's for that matter :D :zlove:

    Cheers!

    Craig

PS. I thought I heard him say 1000cc injectors ZedEx? No matter, small difference :p

Not sure what you mean by very expensive parts? I find it cheaper to do up then a zed as I'm lucky enough to own both. I do agree that the 2JZ isn't the best sounding but it sounds pretty mean at idle. Flat out though my 1JZ soarer sounds much better.
And since 2JZ are known for holding 500rwkw stock reliably, you aleady have a head start right there. The VG30 is a great engine but it doesn't compare to a 2JZ.:p

That clip is an unfair comparison. Hate when people try to compare stock with modded.

Credit where it's due, I see vastly more writeups about worked 2Jz's pushing huge numbers than I do VG30's.

Partly because of the engines popularity, which in turn has lead to a HUGE support base in terms of bolt ons ....but that fact becomes part of the reason for choosing 1 platform over the other

ie, "its better because it has more bolt on support".....well that's a valid reason to call it "better" if the objective is big numbers

"it's better because more people know how to work on them" again....that's not saying teh engine is better, but it IS a valid statement of the overall ownership experience

    etc etc

And yet even Tom couldn't find and fix them.

    odd

I need to replace my FMIC setup with a real one. THEN I'll bother chasing the ones left over.
