my official Fairlady Z cassette tape that came with all new 89 Z's has melted (in my garage.... I don't know how either). If the case is warped will winding it onto new reels work or will the medium be warped and distorted as well?Ben
wow, i diddent know they came with a tape whats on it?I sympathise, my 3 month old MOMO cobra knob lunched its self in the current heat :`( :`(
I would think..... that the medium itself would be warped as well, because the medium is made of pretty flimsy stuff. Then again, I could be wrong. Only one way to find out.CheersJEDI-77
Years ago i melted a walkman with a tape in it that was left on the dash in Karratha for a few hours. Gave the tape to a mate and he knew how to spool onto another. Sound was not as good but still ok to listen to. I think the walkman took most of the heat beating(completely rooted)8(
I've transferred tapes before from melted casings and it worked fine. So give it a try. Sadly my Bruce lee and the jeet kwan do band 45 single was unsalvageable however even though i tried to superglue it onto a metal plate after it warped! Still in mourning for that classic Cheers Geoff:`(
Are the spools.. ..warped also?, if they are not, try taking out the entire spool and installing into a new donor case. And like everyone else asked.... Whats on the tape?
What's on the tape bugger it if I know, it's all in Japanese. It's some Japanese guy voice overing with some late 80's music and the occasional sound of an engine revving and cars driving as he talks. The exact content is as good a guess as anyones.Ben
You used to be able to buy... tape cases that you could load with your own tapes. The tape will probabky be OK. See Ya, Garry
How about I try and find the part No..> & see if it's still available and if your silly enough to want to buy a "tape" that is in Japanese then you can. BTW: The media should be OK.Cheers Andrew
