Why does having or not having a cross over / balance pipe in the exhaust cause problems with turbo seals?

With shitty old turbo seals the scavenging pulses can pull oil into the exhaust, a cross over balances pulses over the banks and stops it. Doesn't always happen when you ditch the cross over but heaps of examples on all the Z forums over the years. Haven't heard of modern turbos doing it.

So does this happen with turbo seals that are already on their way out, or does not having a cross over lead to turbo seal failure?

Why does the H pipe issue always start a shit fight ? It's like god I think. You believe or you don't. I have seen personally the difference between a H pipe then fitting one. But hey it's the just the vibe if that helps you except it.

Most likely both, it's not really an exact science it's just a thing that happens and gets better with a crossover. Restrictions in the exhaust like cats and mufflers probably affect it too.

I am also a believer. Not so much in 'removing a H pipe WILL cause issues', but, I have seen on a handful of occasions, where adding a h pipe has cured some issues.

Ztoy had turbos rebuilt and refitted twice and the smoke continued. $50 h pipe, smoke gone.

Hm, I guess that's why the stock exhaust and every off the shelf aftermarket exhaust has one.

You just lost all credibility imo when you started beating your dick about 'all your stuff being in top form' you muppet. It's people like you with an ego bigger than Trumps that ruin this forum.

Any more off topic banter will result in whatever the new forum equivalent of infractions is.

Haven't had to use it until now. Wonder how many warning points equals a ban? Will find out soon enough I suppose.

Going to lock this up. Contact me to discuss if you did not get the info you were looking for please John.
