Got something from LOJ today Might even drop it in this weekend. Only wiring harness, couple of engine bolt on's and a few other little bits and bobs and it's done. https://wheelwell.com/profile/579d0..._image=580472ea1acfa94f682d4cec#garage-subnav
Got some very unwelcome news today when I pulled off the stock sump to swap over the LOJ kit. Massive chunk of piston and shavings staring back at me. Guy I got it from is sending someone over to collect it and either refund my cash or swap it over for another 6l. Given that I am now in over a few k to this swap kit alone, I will opt for the choice of another motor. Luckily all the motors he sells come with a warranty and the bloke is pretty chill, caused no hassle about it, just a few pics as confirmation. Slight set back, but hopefully I can still get this in whilst I have the engine crane rented.
Engine has been replaced with an l98. And It's all mounted. Very happy with the sump fitment and mounts. https://wheelwell.com/profile/579d0...0fdb1c70?album_image=58083c13c6b1620dd6ca3651
Thanks mate There is a guy named Jimmy Oakes on youtube who has done a n ls conversion series, covers the majority of the swap
Got the front end back together last night. Started doing a cardboard mock up for a bit of rad ducting. https://wheelwell.com/profile/579d0...0fdb1c70?album_image=580c2a8bc4f3cf0d8d2ea4f6 https://wheelwell.com/profile/579d0...0fdb1c70?album_image=580c2a77c4f3cf0d8d2ea4f4
And a better pic of the interior since I dyed the tweed. Actually like that it came out a very dark grey, as opposed to black. https://wheelwell.com/profile/579d0...0fdb1c70?album_image=580c6614c4f3cf0d8d2ea7b6
Cheers man. Every time I try and upload it comes up with a broken link so I don't bother uploading directly to the forum. Followed the directions on the posting pics thread and still shit.
Don't worry about uploading it to the forum, your already doing the hard part & getting it uploaded. Now instead of just posting a link, when you make your post include the photo in it. Wheelwell doesn't seem to have an easy photo location info button I can see (like photobucket) but if you right click one of your photos then select "view image info". When the box pops up there's a line with "image location", copy that. Now when you make your post click the little image above the text box thats like a yellow box with some mountains in it. Now you'll get a pop up box asking for the image url, paste the "image location" info in there. Then the image will be included in your post, like this. Zed's looking great, love the colour & the swap!
Holy crap on a cracker thank you so much for uploading this for me. Yeah I will open a photosharing account this afternoon when I'm home and try and use that instead
No problem at all. You can make it work using wheelwell it's just a little more mucking around when making your post. On photobucket though there's a series of options to "share this photo" on the rhs of an image that make it a little simpler.
Gave One leather seat a treatment to see the difference. The day the last thing was removed from the bay ready for the paint to be stripped back to bare metal.
This was what was staring me dead in the eye when I dropped the sump on the 1st 6.0L. Thank God for a warranty.
Minor update: Picked up a decent rad, vented nose panel with what appears to be a 350z carbon Z badge attached, could just be a dodgey copy tho, either way needs paint. Navan wing from an s14 that actually fits really nicely. Rad offers little clearance with current water pump pulley, so will switch it out with the water pump that has a slim profile pulley, barely getting 3mm at the moment.
Small update. Picked up a 102mm billet throttle body and 4 inch silicon elbow. Honestly this image upload **** around is really starting to shit me.
man that's a big throttle body! As for photos that's where photobucket is handy as it has the direct image share link posted on the side of the screen, just copy that & paste direct into your post, easy. Regardless keep going cos build threads are so much better with pics!
