oh its very noticeable. It seems the hotter the climate the stronger the smell.

for eg. I came home from work today and I can smell the coolant in my bedroom. Garage door is up and car is sitting on the driveway. also, if I lower the windows at the traffic lights I can definitely smell coolant.. its at this point where I'm constantly gauging the temps.

You need to pressure test the cooling system

lol.. you have no idea how frustrating it is when you've just given the car a clean and then 'squirt' happens

Does yours leak at the front too?

    Leak city

Just did a little boost test. Couldnt get the pressure up to 5psi because my MBC is hissing like a cut snake.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the MBC shouldnt be expelling air and making the system lose pressure right?

Any one got a decent MBC they want to get rid of?

I crimped the inlet tube into the MBC to shut it up and can hear other little leaks, mainly around the IAV..

Yes the boost controller does bleed pressure that is how it allows you to build boost above the pressure requirement of the wastegate

yep, was just reading about them

so , should I bypass the mbc to check for leaks? I was thinking of disconnecting the hoses from it and putting them on a straight joiner..

yep a joiner will do for what you want.

    Update..

Ive not been able to do very much as over the xmas break work dwindles and then its a catch up game at the beginning of the year.

I did however manage to hard wire the Escort Max radar and install the dash cam. Figured I'd put a decent sun strip to cover both items until I decide to replace the windscreen.
The dash footage is pretty impressive.. just got to figure out how to compress and edit it for sharing

Before.. radar had power from cig lighter.. so annoying when changing gears, was always disconnecting itself.

    Dash cam installed..

Had fun installing the vinyl sun strip.. at night, windy and dusty, with no room in the garage to keep it totally undercover.. got there in the end and I dont think its too bad

Also bought it a xmas pressie but it was only delivered last Saturday.. Hopefully it was worth the wait.. I'm no rim expert but they look to be in good nick. Thinking about taking them to someone to give them a once over in regards to balnce, leakage and straightness

    Panasport G7 3 piece. 17x9 fronts 17x 10 rear.

Cant wait to put them on but before they do.. Brakes, shocks, suspension will be getting a looked at. Also still need to find a new ac compressor... All in good time.

    Update..

So.. one of the many joys of owning a zed is owning three of them and having to register each one, insuring each one also remembering when each one is due and which rego is for which car. With the other stresses of life sometimes these things can slip... So this short story begins

Basically.. the rego ran out cos I thought I had paid for a year and then realised it was for a different car. So I have been driving my 'daily' around unregistered for the past 5 months unregistered.
DOT actually rang me to enquire about the vehicle and then alerted me to the news.
So took my sliver sword to Top Notch automotives. There's two ex pit inspectors there that went over the car. There was bugger all that I had to do... Take off windscreen sticker ,block bov's, change pillar pods and get a permit for the air pod filter. Thats it :zlove: They also took the vehicle over the pits for me, and replaced everything back when it passed.

So now that I have this air pod filter permit certificate thingy...
thought.. no harm in giving it a bigger one..:D

Thought I'd change the gauges on the A pillar while I was at it..
Changed out the white faced for the black ones and now they both can change colour. :zlove:

Good update on both your threads! A heads up for insurance, in vic & nsw at least racv & nrma offered classic policies which Zeds qualify for. Can't be only car, 9000km a year, etc but very, very cheap. Worth checking if something similar in W.A. I just renewed mine at $15k agreed for $218 premium. Also have 3 cars to rego so any saving is a big bonus!

Cheers for the advice mate. I have all three vehicles with shannons. I pay just over $1500 per year and its all due at the same time. I know have D.O.T sending a text as a reminder when my cars are due registration

    Update..

My daily silver sword didnt escape my attention over the easter break either.

Cosmetically it received new leather with grey stitch boots and gearknob and also a better oem steering wheel courtesy of my white wolfy.

Mechanically I decided to adjust/syncronise the throttle boddies.
I often have hesitation and a vacuum effort when I press the accelerator, also when I coast in fourth it used to stutter plus many other symptoms.

so after cleaning the throttle boddies I adjusted the butterfly set screws so both closed/sealed correctly. Then adjust the throttle linkage shaft between both throttle boddies so they both open at the exact time.
Checked my TPS voltage and it was sitting on .36V.. I'm sure this is low and so set it to .45V. Next I adjusted the IAA unit so the idle sat right in the middle of 500 and 1000 rpm... so about 750rpm. I also took the slack off the throttle cable so I had no more lag when I pressed the golden pedal.

The difference is amazing... Everything from changing gears to coasting and driving in heaving traffic has improved sooo much. Ive even noticed the car starting quicker

I love how this little beast feels like such a machine.. :zlove:
