    Hey all,
Just installed a set of these intercoolers (think they are japtek) and the indicator bulb holders foul on them. Anyone else had this issue and what did you do? Apart from fitting a smaller bulb holder only other solution I can see is using the Aus spec combination lamp.

Yes - the japteks will hit the bulb holders with a stock bumper (and some aftermarkets)

Both your options are the only real answers as you cannot move the IC's

Same dilemma for all unfortunately....... there is no right way, rather its a case of doing whatever you need to ....to get it done

Sorry for not having the golden answer........

That answer is more than golden enough. Just hate reinventing the wheel :)

    Cheers.

Karl which Japteks? There's 2 versions now.

The Z1/godspeed copy which are basically the Jamesz007 mofos for 2" piping and the mammoth version which is an Ashspec copy for 2.5" piping.

Its for standard piping. Don't know exact details, just what the customer supplied.

Cut the bulb housing flush and tape up . Trace the plug onto the other side of the housing cut hole with dremel and replace clear bulb with orange one . Bit hard to explain easy tho :)

Go look for an s2 light bulb fitting .
Many other cars have the same fitting .
The s2 is not exposed like the old s1. You can get them from anywhen really.
So you looking for a complete s2 fittings

If using a US spec front bumper or bumper
running US spec corner lights they will require modification to clear the larger intercoolers. There are a
number of published methods on the internet, our in house method is described below. Light housings are
cut with a band saw or hack saw, rotated 180° and then plastic welded back together. Make your cut along
    the indicated cut line.
Once cut rotate the housing, plastic weld, or epoxy back together.

I have recently had the Z1 intercoolers installed but didn't have to use this method as the ones i had already had enough clearance.

That's because 2k Spec bumper and indicators have the extra clearance

I have massive Z1 BA SMICs and I did as shown in the above pic. i.e. After cutting bulb holder off rotate 180 deg then glue back on. There is no way they would have fit without me doing that.

Can you elaborate on that? What S2 bulb fittings?
