QLD 30th August - Brisbane/Lakes Loop Cruise

Not that we need an excuse for a cruise but this one can be to seeing out another Winter While this is held in Queensland it is open for anyone over the border to attend too. The cruise route will be as follows;

9:30am Brisbane South Side and Gold Coast Meeting point will be the Eight Mile Plains Bus Stop Car Park, near the Gateway Motorway.

10:30am Brisbane North Side and Sunshine Coast Meeting point is Morayfield (Caboolture) BP North Bound.

Head West on the D'Aguilar Highway and stop at Kilcoy for lunch around 12:00pm. Could you please indicate if you are attending whether you would prefer a sit down counter lunch type meal or grab something from the bakery and sit down in the park beside the lake.

We'll then head down through the Brisbane Valley Highway through Esk alongside Lake Wivenhoe, Fernvale/Blacksoil and onto the Warrego Highway where people from their various origins will depart soon after.

Now please note, this cruise has approximately 3 hours driving time and up some mountain ranges. While most people don't mind lending a hand if your car suffers a problem, please ensure you have any potential issues sorted before you commit, otherwise see if you can ride shotgun with someone else.

 

Looks great Karl - I'd vote for counter lunch meal but fine with whatever majority go for.

 

I could quite possibly be in for this. Depends on how friendly Mr Mod plate man is next week

Should be in, had the plenum pull done, no more oily drips, no more smelly fuel smells, just need to do some tidy up work and it all be good.

So who on the Northside wants to meet up at the Shell on the Gateway @ Nudgee or maybe Virginia Macca's or Chermside Westfields, before we head up too Morayfield ?

I'm probably a no - supposed to be doing Bridge to Brisbane that morning!

 

Easy peasy Ash, do a real mad sprint smash all the records and still have time to make the cruise . :rofl: :zlove:

 

Ash just drive from one side of the bridge to the other and then keep driving with us

Just be warned thoe i recently went on the highway to kilcoy the other night and its bumpy as hell so ppl with lowered cars good luck. Gives your coilovers a workout.

 

Is the planned route up for debate?

If we are going to stop in Kilcoy it would be alot more interesting to head north from Brisbane up to Dayboro and then go over Mt Mee and then join onto the D'aguliar hwy to Kilcoy.

Also after Kilcoy the drive along esk-kilcoy and wivenhoe-somerset roads are great too.

Having said that I haven't driven the Brisbane Valley wy before. Just looks like a lot of highway driving for a cruise.

After new leather, suede/alcantara and a full body silver respray I've been looking on the forums for MONTHS for a cruise... and now I'm going on a 4WD trip to Cape York and I'll miss it... haha ... ah well, I'm sure there'll be more.

My car is currently unregistered at the moment and getting ready for engine pull/turbo replacement. If work doesn't roster me on that day, can i ride shotgun with you or one of the northside folks? looks like it fun :-D
