Who has the rarest Zed?

Discussion in 'Non Technical' started by FatChickThriller, Nov 27, 2014.

  1. So I was doing some research today on body/exterior/interior options for the z32. There are many, many, MANY options out there. Red interiors, white interiors, gold paint, purple paint, factory slicktop TT's, the Spyder concept, there are some really crazy options.

I was wondering, who has the rarest Zed on here?

    I have:
    AUDM 1995 NA T-top 2+2
    Arctic Pearl White (QN0)
    Blue velour

Few "rare" zed on here, Jono's 2k spec TT slicktop comes to mind, and mines a factory LP2 Midnight Purple...

Jono with his 2000 TT manual slicktop, probably the only variation of that in the country.
Another member on here sporting the yellow Pentroof Z, but not seen him for some time.

rare would imply 'stock' otherwise every modified car here could be considered rare to some extent.. whats your version of rare? is it as factory spec?

  5. Yes, factory spec rare. Sorry, should have been clearer.

Thats the thing there really are not many "rare" cars as such.

Red interiors and gold paint are USDM options, and if you look at production numbers, not rare really.

I remember looking at USDM numbers and seeing a rare combination was white with red interior, but unless it is in primo condition it doesn't really mean much, and not much more then any primo combination imo.

Jono qualifies as rare in Australia and purple paint as what bracket has already said, but again imo its not a huge big deal, its nice but it doesn't really differ to any other Z32 is similar condition, just the premium of a newer chassis same as any other marque. A 2008 commodore versus a 2000 say.

Its quiet possible a 91 Z32 in dare I say in "mint" condition would transcend a newer car in lesser condition.

The ADM Stillen might be "rare" but it doesn't really offer much more than a sticker, so is it worth twice the price, not imo, a very small premium that probably doesn't amount to much more then the Stillen panel costs, plus a tiny bit more, if that, again condition is king.

I agree with Pentroof and "tune" cars not qualifying for production rare status, the exception for me is the Tommy Kaira M30Z, it was done more like a Peter Brock special vehicles, where a stock car was taken directly from Nissan and had a standard package applied to it, given a serial number and sold as new in Japan.

If you want a holy grail, for me its a M30Z, but in average condition it would be worth a small premium over any other similar condition Z32.

BUT take an extremely clean M30Z and you might be talking up to double the price imo, but we are talking about one amazing car.

The best Z, the most remarkable, the most desirable, the most valuable, would be the cleanest unmodified Z32 of any year you can find.

90% of modified cars aren't in the race imo.

I have zed build number "111" 1989 build, Slicktop, Auto, Silver in colour.
Has been a one owner in Japan for 15 years and garaged its whole life. I have the original sales receipt and books.
It was hand picked by an Aussie guy who worked in Japan, and was a personal import in 2005, with 82,000 original kms on the clock. Currently has 126,000 which I know as genuine kms, and not suspicious wind back as some cars are.
I am now the 3rd genuine owner, and the car is still in excellent condition inside and out, as it has also been garaged here in Aust. since its import.
Its mostly original, apart from a few updated modifications I've made, such as 2000 model front bumper, polished original wheels, updated stereo.

It drives just as good as most newer cars.

The only problem I have with it, is my wife wants me to part with it!

a bog stock one is pretty rare these days.

  15. My '95 NA 2+2 is stock besides the silly GReddy bumper and the 18" wheels. I just sourced a new OEM bumper, OEM '94+ wing and original wheels. The wheels are being blasted and recoated, and the bumper will need repainting to Arctic White Pearl. But after that, my zed will be completely stock, 100% :D
