Guys just wanted to know if anyone has had issue with the FPCU not giving the fuel pump enough juice when there is higher load on the engine? I've only heard of them dying and the car won't run requiring a bypass.

I've replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure reg and the fuel pump itself and the fuel pressure keeps dying when the engine gets a fair bit of load.

Speaking of bypass, I followed the tech section to bypass in a 2 seater but had no luck with that :(

I do remember awhile back Eric did say something about them just dying and needing to be replaced or bypassed, but occasionally it's just a bad earth or old wiring shorting.

Yea thanks Scotty. As I said I'm aware of them completely failing but I've not heard of them not being able to provide enough power to the pump under heavy loads. This engine I'm tuning will make more than 400HP so stock pump is well up to the task but needs to deliver more than what a stock engine will demand.

karl they can fail and be stuck in a light load situation if that makes sense,a bypass is an easy way to confirm

Thanks Rollin and Fists. Yeah this is what I suspected but never experienced it or even read about them partially failing like this, only a totally failure.

    Cheers guys :)

I had a pump that would surge when I had my first TT. Replaced the pump and it ran fine. Not exactly what you are experiencing, but my point being that they do get other things wrong other than work/not work.

I have seen many that only work on a few speeds. If you pull one apart you can see the 4 drive transistors ( one for each speed) bolted to the case and generally one OR MORE of them will be fried indicating some speeds arnt working.
