So as I have spouted on about plenty of times already I have a trip over the pits to complete - to make this easier some de-ricing has been considered and while I am it I intend to respray - bare metal and nice new coats of AH3. Helps being a panel beater I suppose.

    Heres the prelim

Veilside wing is gone and stock lights are to go back in - very close to going Brazilian as well.

Veilside skirts are off not sure if I will make that permanent I do like them (Dons flame suit but really dont care what others think)

Assistants are starting on the weather strips etc

and for a side note if anyone ever does this to another car that I buy I shall hunt them down and kill them slowly - nearly the whole sill seam was folded over on both sides before I started on it today.

Hmmmm well if you fit those skirts back on I guess I will have to maintain the balance and crush the ones I have here LOL!!

    Don't worry I will post a video for everyone's entertainment :D
(grabs box of tissues for the cry babies)

Good move removing some of the rice and yes I ficken hate people who manage to crush chassis rails and sills etc - dirty buggers.

They may want but that dont mean they get, they get personal pc access time when they turn 10 they got a Wii 3 yrs ago (oldest was 9) they get strictly regulated time on these things. none have anything more advanced than a DS - that is no phones no personal pc's in their rooms etc. they have free access to about 750gig of kids movies on the home theatre system. They are pushed to have fun outside on most days (good weather here)

We are not anti technology but we are pro them learning to use their own minds and imaginations.

Then before the bare metal respray, let them loose on the car with some magic markers/sharpie pens...... :D

So a quick update - Its going slow one panel at a time I have done the 2 rear quarters ready for highbuild still have to clean up and rub back the door frames and the doors and front guards. Rear guards have been also been rolled now for future tyre fitment

Aerial has been shaved and will go with an internal glass mounted unit. also has a lot of car door damage to repair

LHS has at some stage gone sideways into something quite hard. I also found that the previous repair while being nearly 20mm of bog also had the guard in about 15mm - Would have caused a nightmare for the rims I intend to run but is all fixed and the guard is also firmed up and now has a skim not more than 3mm at the worst creases that I was too lazy to do.

Finally the Tailgate is not finished by any stretch but has had a hand made panel welded into the recess and a light skim as well - this is yet to be sanded back properly - I am mounting a High level stoplight behind the glass of the hatch

How did you go removing the rear glass? Did it break?

nope in 1 piece. knifed the 3 sides (left right and closest to the back) and used a wire on the top. do remember I work as a panel beater now and am involved in removing glass on a regular basis (we do 2-3 a week) I will say these are the hardest windows I have removed though and I definately took my time with them.

Its slow going I know but I want it right not quick so the main body is in highbuild (has been for a few weeks now). I have got the doors and guards in etch and I have welded up the fender indicator holes and fitted (oh the humanity) VT commodore indicators.

lol Cam - I was looking for some nice small clear indicators I also like the F250 ones but these are common as dog poop, actually off an 02 astra but the same as commodore ones. so thats what I went for.

    Looking good Stu.
Great read so far and will keep watching this.
I like the smaller side indicators.
Those kids are great in the drawing department, possible graphic arts career.
