By the look of the pictures in the article the zed was airborne long enough to get a pilot's licence. Looks to have cleared about 40 metres. Inverell Times - 9th May
Fook me, is that second picture showing the bent railing in the top left indicating in flew from there ?
Just how I read it. If he was overtaking at the time he was on that side of the road heading north to hit the railing. The way the picture is taken, they are trying to tell a story I think. http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=As...=g3yeHgcF2mErfUEetTtLtg&cbp=12,357.01,,0,9.61
i have to say though, i my self had a good stack in a 2 seater ZX, i was told at the scene that the car saved me as the impact was direct on the drivers side chassias rail(even though it bloody hurt), if i had of been driving anything like a 4cyl 'd of be f'd. headon into tree in excess 90kmh. cant beleive this person survived lol and at around 180kmh??? mabey the safety rating should go up a star or 2 for the 300zx z32 lol
shit, i was supposed to go on a cruiz with the inverelle crew and smeath01, if that how they drive IM OUT
seems virtually impossible to have ended up where it did and facing the way it is after landing ..... weird indeed ...
The damaged railing in the pic is at the southern end of the bridge. The zed was travelling north. The bridge is about 50m long. The drop is give or take about 6m. The car was airborne for over 1 second and cleared the waterway before ploughing nose first into the bank. The zed 'flew' at least 40m horizontally before landing and needed to be averaging more than 150kph to make the maths work (I think)
