But yep. Was birthed as just another car club thing.
Wish there was an airstrip in SEQ we could access.

You 2 lining up for a run would be mean. Yeah she looked pretty out there. Any chance you are still in contact with him?

I know right, we should have one!

I guess we are pretty lucky having a drag strip so close though.

While this is definatley possible dont discount traction on a good car vs no traction on a monster. When my mates and I first hit the Car scenes in th early 90's a one of us had a pretty hairy first gen Rx7 with some good power, lined up next to a GTfour celica which was stock as a rock and the celica dusted it off the line every time. However with a rolling start Th RX7 left it for dead it was all about putting the power to the ground in a usable way

Thought of that, 200hp odd difference, if he bites in 2nd it's over haha. Am using an na rear end, so that helps things a tad, plus slicktop. Gtfour is awd turbo yeah? I had a series 2 rx7 with stock 13b and it launced alright with 255's on the rear, no torque obviously tho so had to rev it past 6, got sooo hot in that thing

yeah GTfour is awd turbo. but the RX7 was pretty well modded so anything over half throttle off the line and it would spin its 235's half way through 3rd gear no issues. remember this is back in the mid 90's so big fat tires on little cars were pretty limited especially when a lot of guys still ran 13 to 15" rims and any bigger was getting pretty exclusive.
