The Fairlady name was applied to the sports car line due to the Japanese owner of NISSAN, being greatly impressed with the Musical production of MY Fair Lady(and the associated story line of something very "classy/beautiful" growing from humble begginnings). ![]()

Do you have an aus-spec or a j-spec? If you have a j-spec then you are allowed to put the fairlady sticker on the back.... if you have an aus-spec then technically no you cant coz the aus-specs werent fairladys.

You mean you've never read the rules? It's true. If you drive an aus-spec you're not allowed anything Fairlady
(Even if you can write Fairlady in katakana haha)Anyway, segregation is not the way to go Turtle either we're all Fairlady's or none of us are! (That sounded less gay in my head to be honest...) |

Yes, but I couldn't access page 56. Do we have to buy the magazine to do so?

Yeah, right alongside the dyno tickets which top out at 491 RWHP.
Do you frame them, laminate them, or just leave them laying around to embarass folk with? RWHP elitist that you are I forgive you because you have a silver Z. Cheers, Mick. |

I won't tell you then that those numbers are now a bit higher due to upgrades and mods done since that dyno. Hmmm, laminate the dyno sheets??? Naaa, they'll get outdated real fast at the rate I'm going. ![]()

How to win friends & influence people.
Thanks J, I'm glad you chose not to tell me that those figures are now a bit higher due to upgrades and mods done since that dyno. Very considerate of you.
You cheeky bugger, my silver TT car is presently making 0.00 RWHP so please try to be tactful. Got any salt nearby? Feel free to rub it in. Let's get back on topic. Fairlady Z badges. Focus boy, focus. |

I got a number of stunned looks when I mentioned my figure when I was in the US a few months ago. I had to sit there and explain it to them... hehe. *edit* To stay on topic... I slapped the Fairlady Z badge on the back of mine. I think it gives it a little class without being too showy. Then again, it its a 'J-spec'. I didnt however put the Nissan badge on there that is usually infront and as a result I get the occasional 'what brand car is that?' ![]() MoulaZX

Slip_Stream, if your car IS Aus-Spec, remove the Nissan badge on the nose, replace the rear bar with a j-spec one (plenty in the for sale section), swap your locking T-Tops for non-locking variety, do the fog lights at the front and your set! Then add Fairlady till your hearts content - no-one can say that your car isn't J-spec. Oh and don't forget to swap your cluster with a 180km/h one. Oh and if you want to be really thorough, swap some of your English written stickers with Jap ones. I like the T-Top sticker with the person sitting on the seats, which I always imagine says "Don't stand on the seats while the car is in motion or your head will be cut off by a passing street sign." |
