Ex Zeder , Honda NSX , Project !!!!!!!!

I'm still milling around the ausz forum and thought you guys may be interested in my NSX project thats underway. First of all I hate A/T Trans , and was forced to buy my NSX with AT due to economic and avail issues . So I bought myself a 94 NSX halfcut and am doing what I believe is an Australian first full seamless A/T to manual convert .

Compared to the the Z engine pull , it is both very easy and in some respects difficult as the engine has to be removed from the bottom .
I have to say without a doubt that the Honda engineers got this shit right , everything just make so much sense , very clever stuff .
Another reason for the convert is to HP upgrade path , firstly the MT engine makes 20hp more than stock due to Cams ,minus A/t Drivetrain loss. Like most Autos they can only take so much . One day I may go Forced induction either SC or Turbo , firstly putting comptech headers, already have RSR exhaust and cold air induction . I don't under estimate this NA Vtec stuff , very fun and linear power to drive . I played with a 350Z around the streets last week and he kept up on the straits but around corners , NO CONTEST I do miss the turbo rush a bit , but the way it drives makes up for it in a big way .

umm
isn't it going to be a bit hard to manuever your car into place on top of that engine? it looks like a bit more of a task than our zed engine swapouts

You just have to have the car raised 2.5 feet above the ground , enough room for the engine to hoist down onto a skid pull it away under the wheel arch and reverse when the maual one goes in . The whole suspension drivetrain comes out as a neat package , quite cool really .

Oh , forgot to give you guys an update .

Manual engine getting new T belt, clean and going over before install

NSX up on stands for engine removal , 600mm above ground , Check out the sweet work mat

Auto engine comes out through wheel well , Just!!

Engine drivetrain and suspension come out as a neat pain in the arse package

Then just wheel out the crane and engine comes with it

New clean engine going up into clean engine bay , noth the formula red to match the car , so with the engine covers off it looks seriously cool

Engine is all in now , have been waiting on a carbon fiber intake , brake pedal , shifter bucket , and stuff to hopefully finish this weekend . Will have to modify some of the Auto interior harness to operate properly , ie nuetral switch , clutch interlocks etc .

ECU , traction control , cruise control , ALB , electric steering , manual guage cluster etc have all been swapped out for manual ones , note in pic most of this stuff reside behind the drivers seat on the firewall

Will show completed pics as soon as its done , It wont dissapoint

Finally finished last night , what a job it's been !! , but well worth it . For once in my life everything is working perfectly . The manual is awesome , just chalk and cheese from the Auto , it pulls harder than the last TT manual Z I drove , nealy lost it in the wet last night as the rear wheel alignment is out , going to be done today .
The best part is all this work cost me nothing as I have sold the auto engine/box and have a crap load of spares now that would normally be very expensive ie ABS unit $2.5k from honda
