Nice car, but running 18psi on a stock engine and stock turbo's is not a very wise thing to do.

I agree, sorry to hi-jack. Its almost insulting to see this price for a TT in apparently good condition  . There is no doubt these cars are at their cheapest but 7.7 for a good one? I hope it truly is a bargain for the buyers sake.

MAYBE we should all start reassessing the features our cars have that make them such advanced GT cars...after all, the technology and driveability of the Zed make it an exceptional purchase compared with the average Common-door, etc, out there. Only problem, which we all know, is the difficulty of repair when something goes wrong. And being that most are around 16yrs old, the comparison with an equivalent 16yr vehicle still leaves us well in front!!
Maybe we should start up a chain of dedicated ZED Repair Centres, with franchises in each State, run by hand-picked (Zed) mechanics who know what they are doing and charge honestly and fairly...!! Surely there are some monied people out there who love these cars for what they are and, like specialised dedicated workshops in, say, Britain who devote themselves to maintaining, re-building, etc, specialist makes, could make such a business work. With proper organisation and fair wages, the Centres could possibly be run as non-profit workshops (other than to allow for purchase of new equipment, etc). After all, we have all been ripped off by some existing workshops, and it would be quite refreshing to know you could take your car to a shop knowing the guys running it are virtually the same guys whose cars you cruise with and talk to on the forum...!!
Man, I would willingly give my time (OK, I'm retired...which helps, but I wouldn't need wages!!) to spend time helping out around a workshop full of Zeds....I reckon we might all be surprised just what degree of business we would attract when guys KNOW they will NOT be ripped off...Sort of like a Permanent Tech Day...!!!
Just a thought...:) :)

To be honest thats sounds like a great idea.

And for the price his selling his Z for $7700 either its a bargain of a century or its a complete Lemon. At this price you are putting a devalued face to the Z sports car. Good luck to the sale. But from what I ve heard most young guys thrash these cars and sell them when they are in shitty condition. Enough said

Thanks for the kind words about the car. The car has served well over the pst 2 years. The car needs an exhaust, a prop-shaft centre bearing, a heater core and a paint job. Othewise it is in very good condition. I have a stainless steel dump pipes still in box from a group buy last year.

I'm 36 years old and do not thrash the car. I've driven it less than 10,000 in the past year. With 3 kids and a huge mortgage we've had to say "it's time to go .... ZX".

It will be a great buy for somebody.

Note that I'll be keeping the stereo head unit and the custom plates.

Regards,
Aido

Price drop to $7,500. The car runs great and has no mechanical problems. If you can have it painted for a reasonable price then this is a great buy.

Sadly, this utopian concept will never come to fruition. There is no way a business can survive like that no matter how modestly they are getting paid. Retired or not. Think about the expenses. Overheads like rent, cost of a hoist and tools, etc.
And just say they were doing it for free? Regardless how experienced or skilled the mechanic may be, they can still make mistakes. Now who wants to deal with a disgruntled customer for nothing?
I love the idea, dont get me wrong. I'd be the first to call you if you ever found someone to start this. :D

At $7,700 (no RWC) I've had lots of enquiries however everybody needs the RWC so that's what I've done.

The car now has a brand new sports exhaust (sounds great!), including $500 stainless steel dump pipes from a group by some time ago. Car also has 2 brand new front pirelli's and near new rear pirelli's.

I'm now advertising the car for $8,500 with RWC + an extra set of rims.

Seats are perfect. Interior is very good except for a couple of tears in the back side lining which will be easily fixed.

Mechanically the car is fantastic and still runs great after two years of ownership.

Calder quarter mile was 13.8sec at 104mph - consistent over 5 runs. That's faster than 255KW R8's, other Z's and other SS'. What's the WRX STi do the quarter in?

With a touch of paint this is going to be a great car.

My 2-Door STi did an 12.8, with only a Turbo-Back exhaust.

n/a owners do not involve ourselves in such intricacies .. but the real reason for my enquiry .. mrs b/baz broke down a fraction tonight .. dropped a guarded admission, after viewing my day's zed tickling, .. well, yes, i am changing my view about zeds .. mmmmm ... thinks me .. start looking lad ..!! .. but then, it might just have been the fact that she had just paid $585 for an a/c fan job on her old merc .. and the over heating problem is still there ..!!

Hey they car did a 13.8s@104 with the stock & clogged 15 year old exhaust. Now with a brand new 2.5 twin I reckon she'd better that time easy.

Anyway the car is still for sale. Feels and sounds bloody great with the new exhaust.

No I don't think the 100K service has been done and I have no idea what the hose bypass thing is about. The engine bay is dead stock except for a sports aid filter which of course you can't see by lifting the bonnet.
