complete zed is going to be dismattled and sold. If you want anything now would be a good time to put an order in, check my profile for details
its an Z32, auto.

im debating weather or not to by it back from the insurance company if all goes well.

front half in perfict condition,
back is in.... ermmm... about what you would expect hitting a tree at 100kph.

so give me a list of parts you need and what your willing to pay. will add it all up and see if its worth buying back.

'tis indeed a sad sad day.

date 15 august, will probably be open for a few months.

yeah and the other two i had in the car as well, was on a perfict straight road, but pissing down rain, apparantly 3 or 4 other cars this year have been picked up on by the same tow truck on the same straight.. on the calder in the right lane just before sunbury turnoff, i cant belive no one was injured.
wasnt speeding, doing anything stupid, just driving under the speedlimit, as the cruse wont go on 110.
http://www.poultry-r-us.com/~wisc/myouch.jpg
the ambo driver thought someone would be dead.. but all good.
no one hurt at all.. thankfully it hit on the rear and not the side, or i dont think some of us would be here... if someone wants the rims, id say probably be a good idea to change the rubbers, as even though they had plenty of tread there probably a bit hard/slippery or somthing? i dont know why the car would have aqua plained so badly

i had a look at your shell and thought all my prayers had been answered, even PMed you, but its only a 2 seater?

going down today to have a look at her and get my keys that i left in the ignition. etc..

not sure about insurance yet, as it only happened yesterday, but i don't want to let her go if i can help it.. wouldnt mind another Z32, and installing the mods but the short wheel base has scared the ... outta me.

Looking for a 2.5inch stainless steel, but let me know what you have.

I'm gonna have to do some research on prices aren't i?

what i might do is ring up a wrecker when i have an idea of who wants what and get prices.
im in vic, so if you could leave your state as well. its also easier if you dont email me as if i have all the information in one central point.. here. (just email me and tell me youve posted in you can) thuogh if you need to email thats fine.

im not sure how long it will be before i get the car though insurance, and how much they will charge yet either..

im not 100% sure about the quick shift but from what i can see its a system the plugs into the ECU, and it makes it kick into gear, yet still remaining smooth.
if i do get another zed it will be a manual.. so shouldnt need any of that stuff

boost controller may go to the other car if i do end up getting one, but i know the blitz one is about 800 new for the same one, so whatever the second hand price is... (whatever they normally take off for second hand parts)

took some pics behind the wheel to see what the suspension looked like but i cant tell anything from them.. wouldnt have a clue what it is.. but when you push the car.. the wheels are the only thing to give.
if anyone wants pics to see if they can see anymore feel free to request them over email.. though i dont know if you can really see anything? id say thats why the car didnt roll as we were going sideways accross the highway... WHHHEEEE!!!

exaust looks like its dead, but it was only stock.. it may have had tips.. so thats not going to be any use to anyone..

im going to have to check if the diff was pushed in and hit the transmission at all and see what type of dammage was done under the car.. though the back wheels still see straight.. id imagine if the diff was pushed far they would be bent or there would be some damage in that area...

as for intercooler mounting brackets/heater core im gonna have to ring the wrecker to find out more when i get the car back. my LH whinshield cowl is a little fadded from when we hit it with the jet washer, not sure if i have a bolt for it, cause i have a feeling that one was loose.will also check and let you know...

when i do get prices back from the wrecker etc ill make sure there cheaper then them. just keep leaving what people what so i can get a list together. if the insurace company wants to much i'll just write it off or offer it to anyone else on the site to get what they need and strip, no one intrested in the motor? etc?

ok i think thats covered everything for now....

Daniel is trying to decide whether or not to purchase the car off the insurance company. So instead of people asking "How much would you sell this for", he needs to know what people are prepared to pay for an item - this way he can make a decision on the purchase or not. So if you are interested in something, at this stage it would be more helpful to say "I would be prepared to pay around $250 for the drivers seat if its leather and in reasonable condition"

Daniel, take the above seat comment as an offer. Jeez, real glad you and the passengers are all OK, and sorry to hear about this incident. The Calder Hwy does have a bit of a reputation. Oil on road???

I would like to know more about the wheels ....

What brand are they?
Do you know the widths? Is rear wider than front?
Do they have any rim scuffs or scratches?
Are they real 2 or 3 piece wheels or are the bolts fpr looks only?

IF you go ahead and the wheels are acceptable to me after an inspection, I'd be prepared to offer around the $700-900 mark. I would be putting track day rubber on them.

Best of luck, and I hope you get your backside in another Z soon. Cheers, RZM - I have sent you a PM.

Thanks for the concern, its nice to see the zedders community sticking together.

It kinda makes the accident no where near as bad that no one was hurt and that it was such a bad hit.. may have been oil, as I couldn't see what else could have affected it, going straight then all of a sudden towards the middle of the road, then kicked back in to much. and away we go... I cant believe I missed about four cars in front, behind and almost besides me.

Anyway on with the biz!!
Wheels seem ok from memory there was a chip on one of the wheels, I have a few good pics of them.
Stern I think they are, well that's what it states on the wheels.

I have 255's on the back and 235's on the front, the front should be good, probably done about 3000 km on them as I got the car at about 86k and its about 89k now.

seats are in good condition, no tears.. few white creases.. you would have to have a look at the drivers chair though as its been pushed back in the accident... the passangers chair is in the random pics link above

here are some random pics of the car, one is the wheels that I took today, its different to the one shown below

EDIT: bare in mind that its all dirty/covered in mud from hitting mud and trees.. dirt tends to get a car dirty.

here are some random pics of parts in the car. (http://www.poultry-r-us.com/~wisc/index2.html)

http://www.poultry-r-us.com/~wisc/10.gif

huge pic of the wheels you can see the type of chips on this one (http://www.poultry-r-us.com/~wisc/10.JPG)

I think I'm too honest :P ;)

as to:
Are they real 2 or 3 piece wheels or are the bolts fpr looks only?

sorry wouldn't have a clue.. but from what ive seen on whats been done to the car, i can't imagine he would go cheap on anything. Maybe you can tell from the pics.. sorry i cant be more help here.

That's not a bad idea an auction addition to this site wouldn't be a bad idea...for when a popular item comes up..

ok lets not get over exited people at this time as I've said a number of times before I'm checking the waters to see if its worth getting it back from insurance, I haven't even talked to them yet, all I want for now is what people are interested and what they think a fair price for the part is...also if I do choose to get another zed, i want to see what that one is missing first.
after that ill get some prices from the wreckers or people in the know and make sure its cheaper and fair.
if it all works out and i can get the car back then i will have a list of who needs what and can post on this site and make arrangements.

Sounds good? if you have any queries on any parts just e-mail me and I will try to search though pics or give you additional information like I have been

and unfortunately its more than likely going to be a choice of who wants to pay more..
sorry. :embarrassed:

drivers side still looks like its in perfict condition still, no damage from the doors forward... not sure about prices till i check with wrecker to make sure they are reasonable., but it looks as if there is enough interest in it to justify buying it back off the insurance company if all goes smoothly.

i also have some side skirts that dind't look damaged... just realised after looking at oz 300's car.. side skirts... there cool! :)

if there is more than one offer for a part I will probably just go on tender to make sure its fair on everyone that way people will only offer what they think is fair and are willing to pay.

--if i can pay off my loan, and costs i'll be happy!
if i can keeps some spare parts as well ill be even happier.

I don't know much about prices either, but I agree with Mike in that I should at least tell you what I'm interested in paying.

If the following parts are not scratched, sun-cooked, faded etc, I'm interested in:

1. The front bumper without fog lights or indicators (if in the original Z metallic black) - $150ish . Obviously, more if it was the whole assembly with the fog lights only.
2. The side window mouldings LH and RH - $100
3. The cruise control bits (ie: pump, dash switch, cables, steering wheel, etc) - $150.

I really have no idea of prices, but if you know more, happy to work with you.

Wisc,

I'm interested in the inlet plenum and throttle bodies (including linkages). I'm willing to pay $180 for that.

I'm also interested in the three cam covers from the front of the engine. I'm willing to pay $50 for the lot.

If your car had cruise control then I'm interested in all the parts for a conversion (will send you a list later if this goes ahead). Willing to pay $250ish for everything.

got the price to buy her back from the insurance they want four and half grand for her!!!!

i dont think im going to get it of them, thats just stupid when i can get a FOB for 6 thats not written of. As you dont need to complince them fully on road for not much more.

I'm going to go to the insurance auction and see if i can get her back for a realistic price.

rom, your gonna have to wait until i find out whats happening. sorry to get your hopes up.

targa shades: ive heard go for a LOT more than 100 bux.. but that may just be people giving me bull will find out once again... i have those on me now, so regardless if I get the car or not there probably going to go. as well as the cargo cover and turbo timer control unit, not sure how usefull that is though.

havent checked the PTU, but judging by the cars age.. its an 89, its probably a series 1, but i would have to see it to make sure.

Ill let the rest of you know how i go after the event... in the mean time keep this on pause.. sorry to get anyones hopes up.. but i didnt think that they would try sell it back for this much!!!

if i do get it for a decent price it may even be worthwhile buying a shell and selling it complete as its pretty much complete now except for boot damage... and maybe diff.

will keep you all posted..
