G'DAY I'M FAIRLY NEW WITH THE 300 IN BRISBANE AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER ANY OF YOU GUYS KNOW OF ANY PLACES WHERE YOU CAN GET THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR REBARICATED (IN VINAL OR LEATHER). I SORT OF FOUND THIS PLACE IN SUMMNER'S PARK AND THAT GUY WAS GONNA CHARGE ME $2500  JUST TO DO THE SEATS. I DONNO IF THAT'S A REASONABLE PRICE BUT IF YOU ASK ME THAT'S JUST A TOTAL RIPP OFF.
YEAH, SO IF ANYONE ELSE KNOWS ANY OTHER PLACES IN BRIZZY WHERE IT MAY BE CHEAPER PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
CHEERS.:)

I can't help you out with alternative trimmers in Brisbane, but I have been quoted $900 per seat on a 2-seater using Connolly leather by a trimmer with Z experience. Was also quoted $600 by someone else without Z experience, and using cheaper leather. My seats remain unrepaired.
If you have a 2+2 and the quote included the rears, and it was using top grade hides, then the quote may well be market price for a good job.

Cheers, guys. I'll give the place at Marooka a call when I get home today.
BTW : that quote for $2500 was for just the front two seats (ALONE). Which I think is a total rip off.
Thanks again.
Rob.

Is that 300ZX seats in particular, are more complex than most seats.
If you are after quality then I would like to suggest this for thought:-
* When comparing quotes, you need to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. This is difficult because there are many fabric options out there.
Just as there are many Trimmers out there.
* Re: Trimmers, Try to find one that has done previous work on 300ZX's. Ask for previous customers who you can have a look at their work. Any good Trimmer would be able to provide details of Happy Customers.
Its a allot of money whether it be $1200.00 or $2500.00, I would check, look before you jump.
* In respect to purchasing Pre-Fabed Kits.
Unless you have lots of creative, artistic skills, lots of common sense and logic I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DONT TRY IT.
You need a great-eye-for-detail, ability to line stuff up, know how to pull your car apart, and put it back together again,
Leather and Vinyls are all different to work with. If not stretched and pulled the right way they will never sit right. Gluing and adhering is not all that straight forward either.
I have had first hand experience at this.
So long as anyone doing this realising that they may not achieve a professional look, and they are hapy with that. Then to save the dollars can be a positive, however if maintaining the quality of your Zed, matters to you, and you know you do not have the skills and experience I WOULD NOT SUGGEST TAKING ON BOARD "L" PLATES AND LEARNING/PRACTICING ON YOUR ZED.
You dont get 20 attempts at it, once it's on, its on. And for every attempt, you reduce the quality of the materials you are working with.(whilst cretaing new ones for yourself)
If however you have such skills, then you can probably achieve an OK look.
What I do know is that first time round, its most unlikely.
Hope this gives you some guidance whereby you can achieve YOUR desired outcome.
